  This is a nice hotel conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan one block from the subway and right on the bus line. The front desk staff was awesome. Our room wasn't ready and after an hour of waiting in their nicely appointed lounge, the staff upgraded us to a one-bedroom suite for our trouble at no charge. The rooms are VERY spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We had a full-sized fridge, stove and microwave at our disposal. The condition of our room was on the older side... the carpet had a few permanent marks and the suite hadn't been modernized recently. The air conditioning was hit and miss, but the hotel staff sent up a maintenance person and a fan and between the repairs and the fan, the rooms were comfortable. The biggest asset to this hotel is the staff. Everyone really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The problems we encountered weren't serious enough to keep us from enjoying our trip. We will certainly book this hotel again when we return to New York.

  Unfortuntately my stay at Affinia 50 was not up to my expectation. First, there is major construction going on outside the hotel, not inviting at all. The bell man service was fair; the front desk service was not good, the level of customer care and service was quite poor. The hotel has No warmth at all, and the pictures on the website are FAR superior to the "real thing". The hotel basically needs a complete make over, as the rugs and decor are very old and run down. The rooms are ok, but the AC does not really work well. The gym is fair, as long as there are only 3 or 4 people in it. My recomendation would to be to find another hotel, as there are many in this price range that are much better than what Affinia 50 offers.

  Nice hotel in great location. The first two floors had been remodeled so it looks like they are in the process of updating the hotel. The halls in our floor seemed dark and kind of scary. Everything was small but for the amount of time we spent in the room it was great. Would stay again.

  Affinia 50 was a great place to stay. Wonderful location,clean, incredibly comfortable beds, very accommodating staff (except for one of the concierges, who was not helpful and acted like he was bothered when you asked him a question!). We were in NYC on a vacation and would definitely stay here the next time we are in town.
