  I recently stayed at the Hawthorn Suites in Austin and was very disappointed to see that the room was in need of repair in many ways. The toilet flushed fast but took forever to refill and the noise of its' refilling was annoying throughout the room. We checked in and found less that half a roll of toilet tissue with none to be found in the room (at 7:00 a.m.). After using some of the facial tissues I had to go to the front desk and acquire both types of tissues. The bed was great and comfy but while walking barefoot in the room....I stepped on someone elses toe nail that was not picked up or cleaned before we checked in. The room had many cracks on the walls and ceiling from dry wall in need of repair and the shower head "spit" water from its' base more than from the shower head. I had to tighten the head before using. The shower head needs replacing as does the shower curtain with mildew. Don't ask me about the "full buffet" because I didn't get to eat, but when I asked what was on the buffet....I was told of some items that might be on the menu!! Hardly a full buffet!! The room was large and comfortable, I really enjoyed the spaciousness but not much else.

  We loved free hot breakfast and dinner. Well worth the moeny. Besides, the room we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and courteous. We are certainly going back next time in town. A huge shopping mall was right across the highway, where we spent a good of evening hours.
