  This was a pretty decent hotel for us. The room was clean enough, the pool was clean, the A/C worked great and the staff was eager to please. There are bugs here but they are crickets and they stay primarily outside of the room. Anybody that know anything about this area of texas knows that they are unavoidable. The location is really convenient, only about 3 minutes from bastrop. The breakfast was adequate with a make your own waffle station, dry cereal and assorted pastries. Along with coffee, Milk and juices. The hotel looks new though it really isn't and having a microwave, fridge,iron,coffeemaker, hair dryer and ironing board in every room was a nice touch. Far enough away from the road that you don't seem to hear annoying traffic. ALSO they have 10 meg wireless internet and it was no problem getting it anywhere. There seemed also to be a wired connection in the room but I did not investigate. They could use a new ice machine, but the one they have is functional. Plenty of television channels with HBO and everything your kids would want to watch. I will stay again the next time I come back. Great price for a good room.

• Disappointing Experience

  Arrived very tired and ready for bed. were told we would have to park in the lot across the street as their small parking lot was full. discovered several men ...

  Arrived very tired and ready for bed. Were told we would have to park in the lot across the street as their small parking lot was full. Discovered several men in lawn chairs drinking beer, playing loud music, and one urinating in the grass. Told the night clerk and she said it was some of their workers. Suggested we park in the handicapped spot since everyone had checked in for the night. We did so and carried our bags up to our room to find that when we turned on the air conditioner it was it made a loud noise - sounded like a belt was about to break. We go back downstairs to see if we can get another room and are told none are available. We left and drove about 100 miles to find another place to stay. Had prepaid with my credit card and am still trying to get a refund. Keep getting the run around from the property management. Would not recommend this place to anyone. We usually make Super 8 our motel of choice. Typically they are clean and affordable. This one was neither.

  Staff was very rude! the pool was broken and bugs everywhere!!

• Bad Breakfast, Bad Pool

  The pool is bad. the continental breakfast is absolutely pathetic. 2 muffins and 1 doughnut. no juice, no milk. a loaf a plain bread to make toast. had to wait ...

  The pool is bad. The continental breakfast is ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. 2 muffins and 1 doughnut. No juice, no milk. A loaf a plain bread to make toast. Had to wait in line behind the hotel staff to get coffee. There are plenty of good places to stay in Bastrop, and this is NOT one of them.
