  February 2009 Stayed 3 nights /4 days We were pleased with our stay at the Best Western Hotel. The staff were all very friendlly and more than helpful. The hotel itself appears too have been recently remodled. It is very clean and nice looking. Continental Breakfast had fruit and muffins and pastries along with cereal and waffles. The lobby had a computer for guest use that worked well for printing our plane tickets. The location is easy to find, just off the I 35 expressway, and with in blocks of the ""downtown"" San Marcos, The pool was closed for upgrading at the time of our visit, but it was winter and not swim weather anyway. We would stay here again if we ever get back down to Texas !

  Room had overflowing buckets inside the room to catch rainwater leaking through outside wall! Breakfast was meager; tables were not clean and trash can was crammed. Outside driveway trash receptacle was overflowing. Room was clean; bed was fairly good. Noise on freeway side of building was very loud. Air conditioning unit fan disturbed our sleep. Way overpriced for what you get, in my opinion. San Marcos is a popular tourist destination; maybe motels here don't have to try very hard to please customers.

  We got a good deal on our room at the Best Western in San Marcos, TX. They have nice, clean rooms and a friendly staff. The breakfast was minimal and not impressive, but that's the only thing that lacked on our stay. It was well worth it and I hope I can stay there again next year on our annual trip.
