  We stayed at the Clarion Waco on Thursday June 11th. Check in went fine and room was ready when we arrived about 5 p.m. The front desk was busy but we were in a room within 10 minutes.The Clarion is an older but well kept property. We had a room with 2 Queen beds, small fridge, chair and desk. Indoor pool was great and we loved it. Plenty of chairs, deck space, tables, and safety equipment. The atrium also included a small game area, lounge chairs, tables, and a swing big enough for two. Hotel also has small cocktail lounge with pool table. We slept fine (but could have used a few more pillows) and got our 8:00 wake up call. Continental breakfast is on the light side and the $5.00 buffet is barely worth it. Food really not that good but enough to get our day started. Hotel also allowed late check out (1:00) so kids got to swim a little longer. Check out was fine and no bad charges. They do charge $1.50 for the room safe. We used constantly and really liked it. Well worth it. When in Waco the Clarion Waco will be our first choice.

  Our kids loved the indoor pool- that was really a perk. The staff was kind, the room was clean, and we had everything we needed. We paid for the breakfast buffet in the morning. We also enjoyed the fitness room. The only thing we would change would be the pillows. A couple were a bit flat and could use replacing.

  The Clarion Inn is a great hotel to stay at. I would like to let others know that when we were there the pool water was cold and at other times it was being monopolized by other guests. The safe in the room had been closed and we were unable to use it. The refrigerator was not cooling, however, after a call to the front desk a maintenance worker came and fixed it. The television had did not have a VCR or DVD player. I would like to recommend that the hotel add this feature either already in the room or available for rent or to lend out to guests. I did not eat the food except for the complementary breakfast which lacked fruit. I would like to commend the staff for the friendly atmosphere at the front desk.

  We were on vacation with our grandkids. After we checked in we had car trouble and had to stay another night. Vehicle had to be towed to dealership. Staff worked with us; later checkout, put things in security room and let us stay in hospitality room till our car was delivered to us. The hotel is being renovated outside but there are signs stating that. The inside was very nice. Our room was comfortable and clean. The indoor pool and pool area is just beautiful and very spacious. Lots of seating areas. The staff went beyond the norm to help us and made a difficult situation less stressful. If we needed anything they took care of it right away. We would definitely stay here again.

  Our room had been redone, but to fit the bill for "pay less for more".com companies. The only reason we found this out was waking up to a maintance situation that caused a midnight move...to the other side of the hotel and to an obviously better room. Can not comment on the quality of the compilmentary breakfast, but the cockroaches were very large that we saw crawling around. The desk clerks did not bother to contact a manager to help assist in finding a compromise to our complaint when we checked out. Needless to say that we will never use Clarion again.
