  We reserved a non-smoking room with Travelocity. Got there early, and no non-smoking rooms. No apology, clerk said it showed as smoking on his computer so that's what we could have. No offer to help resolve anything, just insistant that it said smoking, so it would have to be smoking. Hey, mistakes happen, but hotel staff are usually very helpful and interested in finding a solution to a problem, not insisting they are right. The lobby was filthy. Not particularly threadbare, but hadn't been vaccuumed in far too long, not dusted in even longer. We start calling Amex (charged the room on our card - thank goodness) and while they were helpfully finding us alternate accommodations, the clerk asks us to remove our luggage from the lobby. We complied. As we were we finding an alternative place to stay, he said the Manager told us to leave because the lobby furniture is for guests only and if we aren't staying there, we have to get out. Not that we were being loud or getting in anyone's way, just sitting on the lobby couch and writing notes about other possibilities on our own paper at the lobby coffee table. To be fair, he did offer to call us a cab, but since (as he watched) we had put our luggage in the trunk of our rental car, we declined. We called Days Inn corporate customer service and told them about our experience and did get a letter from the General Manager of the hotel - explaining to us what happened, but not apologizing or accepting any responsibility for the deplorable customer dis-service. The place Amex found for us (Extended Stay America, half a block away) was great, clean, quiet, comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

  This hotel was more like a motel. i really did not like my stay there so i stayed only one night. the price should be much lower for such accommodations, ...

  This hotel was more like a motel. I really did not like my stay there so I stayed only one night. The price should be much lower for such accommodations, Travelers beware!

• staff was nice but

  Tv set was horrible..very old. did not have hbo like they advertise! they said they substitue with 3 showtime channels...but we only had one channel!

  Everything else was ok. The staff was fantastic.
