  We were in Oswego for Freshman Orentation and while our son stayed at the college we stayed at the hotel. Even with the RT 104 bridge out the hotel was easy to get to from the college. It was very close. The hotel was located in the business area and was well maintained. Check in was great and I was even able to make a reservation for parent's weekend in Oct. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The room and the bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was also quiet at night; no slaming doors, loud music or tvs. We would definately stay again and recommend it highly for your stay in Oswego.

  My son and I went to Oswego for an open house at the college. This was the only hotel with rooms available, which was a bit of a concern. It turned out that the room was large and clean with a view of the river. We did not eat at the hotel, but there were plenty of restaurants nearby. SUNY Oswego was only a mile or 2 drive too. I would stay again.

• Worst Customer Service Experience Possible with Local Staff and Corporate

  My reservation made no mention of a smoking room, but the room reeked of smoke on entry & did not have the microwave listed on reservation. the room smelled like a ...

  My reservation made no mention of a smoking room, but the room reeked of smoke on entry & did not have the microwave listed on reservation. The room smelled like a bar at closing time. Front desk staff was unapologetic and chided me for not confirming my reservation (when I had called 1 hour before arrival to do just that), but promised the online travel website representative they would try to fix the problems and leave note for the manager in the morning. There was no manager/supervisor on duty for a sold out Friday night. online travel website could not move my reservation to a different hotel, as all hotels in Oswego and Watertown NY were fullly booked that night. Corporate customer service told me I was lying about my reservation, wanted me to fax a copy of my reservation to them on a Friday night, & said they could do nothing because all Econolodges are franchises. Front desk did not bring up ionizer or microwave and did not leave a note for the manager, who was not in the following morning. I checked out Saturday morning and no manager was due in until Monday morning.
