  Just returned from a great New York trip, all evcept our stay at The Bentley Hotel. For starters we requested a queen sized bed and got two doubles! Which is ok cause I love being close to my wife, but I am 6'4 and 255. So my feet hung off the bed and they told us there were no queens and wouldn't upgrade to there next best room or even offer a discount. But the double was very comfortable for my wife. No rain fall shower head,bathrobes or slippers like advertised! Rooftop resturant was undergoing work and has been for some time. So there is no 360 degree view of anything! Staff was ok, if you found one who spoke english very well. But they were still friendly enough. Mini bar was fully stocked, but frige didn't work. And they were in no big hurry to fix it either. Area was very nice and we felt very safe at night walkng back from the subway. Which by the way is a long walk. Not worth they money, considering you can get a hotel close to down town. And closer to subway for a little more money. I will be staying some where else on our July trip!!!!

  Elevators all broken for 24 hours and had to walk up small stariway and no discount given!! also hot water out for 24 hours and no discount given at checkout. ...

  Elevators all broken for 24 hours and had to walk up small stariway and NO DISCOUNT given!! Also hot water out for 24 hours and no discount given at checkout.Stay closer to Rockfellow center this is way too far up upper east side!!!

  Honestly, it's not the worst money I've ever spent, but, it's close. The internet photo's of the hotel are a testament to the capability of photography - with the light just right, maybe it looks like that? It wasn't just the deceptive photo's, or the mention that they are closer to Time Square than they are... On our second day, the LAST of three elevators broke - yes, we climbed 6 flights of stairs everytime we went to our room for TWO DAYS (we're lucky we were on the 6th floor). The remote in the room never worked (no big deal, but we called, they said they'd be ""RIGHT THERE,"" NEVER CAME....). Next, the boiler went out - cold showers for all!!!! So, I went down to talk to the staff - and guess what concessions they made? ZERO....couldn't have cared less... DON'T WASTE YOUR VACATION....GO ELSEWHERE

  The Bentley is a great place to stay for a quick leisure visit to New York City. It's not your typical ""American"" hotel. The decor is distinctly European. The high point - literally - is the rooftop restaurant and bar. Great place to bring friends after dinner somewhere else. The view is really as good as they say. Service is good. The bar layout is comfortable for lounging with a group of friends. If you have the courage, go out on the terrace and look out over the city! Few places have a better view. Rooms are small but comfortably laid out. Closet isn't very large -- great for a weekend, a little cramped for a week. High ceilings are a plus, making the rooms feel more spacious. Bathroom is outstanding -- best shower ever. No free wireless or wired Internet. They want $14.95/day for wireless. Bummer. Midtown location is convenient. The Ritz Diner, a block up 62nd Street is an outstanding place for breakfast. If you're looking for typical American business hotel, this is not the place for you. If you want something different and eclectic, you'll enjoy the Bentley.

  The hallways are very dark... not real safe, elevators take forever, and the concierge was not helpful at all... when asked if he had a map of the subway, he told me to try the subway, also... they Hotel double billed my credit card, causing me overdraft, and it was difficult to get someones help. The rooms were warm during the day, and cold at night, if you could sleep with the noisy A/C unit. On the bright side, the Bentley Hotel is well located and the doormen were nice.
