Important Hotel Information

  • Please note that the rooftop pool at the Catalina Hotel closed for construction on July 1st for approximately one month. The bamboo pool will remain open at this time for guest use.
  • This hotel requires guests to provide a valid credit card in order to check in.
  • The hotel charges a 15 per night, per room resort fee (recovery fee), which will be collected directly by the hotel at check-in. This fee includes use of the following: wireless Internet, airport shuttle, local phone calls up to 15 minutes, pool and beach access, towels, beach chairs, and cocktail hour.
  • The hotel offers complimentary drinks nightly from 7pm to 8pm for all guests (well drinks only). In addition, the hotel also offers a daily complimentary airport shuttle to and from Miami International Airport on a fixed schedule. Hotel is not responsible for missing a flight due to unforeseen circumstances such as traffic or mechanical problems with the shuttle.

    Even though hotel is located right on the South Beach which is very convenient don't go. I was trying to check in at 3PM and room was not ready, even though check out time is 11AM. How come???? Then at some point I had a change of plans and wanted to cancel rest of my stay at the hotel in advance of course, which usually not a problem as long as you inform from desk prior to cancellation. I was denied to cancel with explanation that my stay was purchased through the travel website and they have nothing to do with that. It was already pre-paid. Which is another point NOT TO USE TRAVELOCITY AT ALL. Call hotel directly and make the reservation. the travel website is just a fifth wheel in that process. ABSOLUTELY USELESS. And Finally!!!!! Be aware of RESORT FEE which is $*/day. Final accommodation cost for that hotel is higher then any other hotel of that level in that location. Do your more research and you will find better deals then this Piece of S...

    My husband and I had a terrible experience here on Tuesday. The hotel smelled terrible when you walked in, and the front desk staff were anything but friendly. The first room we were given smelled terrible, had no lighting and was not up to the standards advertised on the website. When we went down to discuss this the front desk staff made me take out my laptop to prove the rooms were described differently online, and then argued saying, well that was our old website, even though it was the online website available via google or travel online. There were very rude, made little eye contact, and made a big deal out of giving us a better room, saying we were lucky to be getting this free upgrade. The other room was a little better, but was in poor condition (wall paper peeling, floor boards coming up, and a direct view of a wall and alley). There was no direct beach access across the street ,and you had to go through a process of getting vouchers to get chairs and towels. The service at both restaurants was atrocious, and the food ok at best. We were given vouchers to a club that wasn't even open. I ignored the other bad reviews I found online because I thought people were being too picky, but I would never do that again. I'm usually a very easy going guest, but the staff was rude from the moment I called to verify my reservation, and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

    We stayed her last minute so we could go see the New Orleans Saints beat the Miami Dolphins. We stayed from Oct 22-Oct 26. We upgraded our room to Superior once we got there. The room did not have much. Poor lighting but a small window to get natural light. We were really never in the room for very long so it didn't bother us. We took the shuttle which was on time from the airport to the hotel and caught and earlier than scheduled one to leave by just jumping in. The happy hour is well worth it. Free vodka, gin, and rum drinks. Pretty good drinks everynight from 7-8pm. We went to the beach which was on two blocks away. Everything that we did besides the football game was wtihin walking distance. You will save money on taxi's if you don't mind walking. It is not extrememly clean but o.k. some stuff was broken or just patched up in the room. For the price we got it for which was $* a night with taxes I would recommend it but I wouldn't pay much more for this.

    We did a girls trip and purchased a party package from the concierge. Limo ride to dinner, Dinner and VIP entrance to a specific club. The package was not at all what she sold to us. Once we arrived to dinner and spoke to the guy who was in charge-he could not believe how much we paid and he said there was no way we could get VIP entrance into the club that the lady at the hotel promised. Be ware of what you purchase from the concierge! In addition, the hotel was out of clean wash cloths for an entire day.
