My husband and I stayed for five nights, */night + taxes. I would have left after the first night had we not prepaid our rooms. The Super 8 next door is MUCH cleaner. This hotel is not up to Holiday Inn standards. The hallways were very durty, the dryer had blood smears on it, the sink had mold/mildew around it, the bed had HUGE dust bunnies on the floor and they countinued around the furniture against the walls. Our room smelled musty, but the room they switched us to did not. The treadmill did not work for our five day stay, the water cooler was plugged in, but was not cool at all. ?? The breakfest service was NOT friendly, but the food was very good. The carpet in the dining area could use a good cleaning. Actually, the whole hotel could use a thorough cleaning. I absolutely would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. For the price, you would expect a much better facility.

We led an overnight school trip of 50 kids and chaperones. The rooms were good (although the girls complained of noisy people in the pool late at night), the meals were great, and the organization was terrific. We definitely will return.

This is your basic Holiday Inn. It could be a little cleaner, it could be a few bucks cheaper, but all in all, it's in the most centralized location and it's a Holiday Inn. With kids, it's very convenient.

The Holiday Inn has been a wonderful find for my group of Officials and volunteers involved with a large equestrian competition up the road in Saugerties. I need, basically, 60 rooms for a week. I need my rooming list accurately processed. I need a flexible staff that can cope with the vagaries of people that don't show up, come in the middle of the night, show up when not expected. I need a nice restaurant and early morning breakfasts. I need a wait staff in the restaurant that can cope with feeding 10 hungry officials, and then four more late comers - with a smile - and toward the closing hour. And, for some, I need a bar. I need Grab and Go bagged breakfasts at 6:30 AM for volunteers. I need quiet rooms where my staff can rejuvenate to face the next day's horses. This is not the newest Holiday Inn and has a bit of a 60's feel, but that is immaterial to us. The rooms were clean and adequate. We spend very little time in them. Holiday Inn provided all this for us - with a smile.

The primary area of dissatisfaction was that the interior of the hotel was warmer and more humid than the outside air.

At the front desk at check in, things were pleasant enough. To get to the room, my wife and I needed to cross the 'cool' end of the Holidome area - that was unpleasantly warm. The stairwell to the second floor was hot - above body easily above temperature. The second floor corridor was a relief, it was only in the high 80's.

The guest room was warmer then the corridor, and had no exterior windows, instead opening into the Holidome area. We turned the little air conditioner on, and decided to try the pool area. The hot tub was much too hot, the pool lifeguard advised a parent with small children that the tub would not be safe for them. I tested the water with a foot, and judged it as much too hot for comfort.

We decided to try the pool. That was cooler, only somewhere between 90 and 95 degrees, but the pool heater seemed to be working at full blast. [the water flowing into the pool was like hot tap-water]. It was too muggy inside to relax, so we went upstairs to see if the air conditioner was making a dent in the heat. [Well, it was starting to, probably down the the mid 70's].

We thought that having an outside room might be better, particularly if the windows opened [and had screens]. Before dinner, we mentioned our difficulties to the desk clerk/manager - he was not helpful.

Dinner was adequate, and our waitress was charming. Back to the room. We noticed that we were nodding off watching TV, so decided to go to bed. Overall, the bed was less comfortable than our air bed, in a dome tent, in a crowded festival hay farm campground, during a thunderstorm. We slept well in the tent. The room seemed uncomfortable by comparison.

We have used the hotel a few times before, often following a camping trip. On earlier trips it seemed to be a good value. But not last night.
