Room needs updating. Stairs were taped off like a crime scene (broken stair??). The hotel itself was very worn. Ice machine was broken, so had to get ice from front desk. Service was very friendly. Hotel had a section that seemed to be long-term rentals or people who lived at the hotel. It wasn't unsafe, but it was not worth $100 a night, especially when it was practically empty. Swimming pool (outdoor) was drained (this was after Labor Day). No internet available anywhere on property.

We stayed at Quality Inn - Newburgh on West Point graduation weekend, so the room rate was grossly inflated - $* per night - which started us on the wrong foot. This motel has seen better days. Much of the facility is in a poor state of repair; the pool is not functional, one stairway is roped off, rust abounds on the metal railings and stairways. The grounds are not well maintained, and there is a lot of junk laying about. The desk staff at check-in was frustratingly ill-trained and unhelpful. There were some positives: the room was clean and the beds were comfortable; wireless broadband worked well, and there was a decent complimentary hot breakfast buffet. Overall, though, this is not a motel which I would recommend, or where I would want to stay again.

after reading other reviews i didn't know what to expect but after spending a night here i guess it depends on which room you get. i didn't have any problems with water/heat/carpet. i stayed here one night the front desk staff was very polite if i ever come back to the area i would stay here again.

It took 3 rooms to find one to stay in. I got the key to the first room. It was occupied??!! Second room - no heat. New York in Oct is a bit chilly. So back to the desk. They gave me 3 sets of keycards to 3 different rooms - ""pick one and let me know which one you like."" The manager on duty was a real gem. She seemed to have a never ending series of problematic *personal* calls that prevented her from helping me and a number of other customers waiting at the desk. And since I made 4 trips to the desk - I did get to see quite a bit. The desk clerk was also a trip. She's the one that gave me the occupied room. Very distracted and mouthy towards the manager - with me and other customers waiting nearby. The final room I chose was what you'd expect from a $* room: smallish, but OK; old furniture; obviously lived in by many years of travelers. If your expectations are low - you'll like this place. The ""hot breakfast buffet"" is technically true, but not very appetizing. No employee in sight to ask for help (plates ran out, no coffee, no juice, etc.) If you're in to cereal and toast - you're in luck. I've recently been looking at the Choice Hotels first when I go on trips. Very satisfied. So much so that I'm ""Elite Gold"" in only a few months. I will not be staying at this Quality Inn again. I *will* continue with the Choice Hotel line. This hotel is a bad apple. Go elsewhere.
