  The room was clean, the staff was freindly, and the breakfast was a nice extra. i would stay here again whether on business or pleasure.

  hurricane Ike damaged this hotel, but it looked like it was ready for guests. When we arrived the front desk area, lobby, breakfast areas were lovely. Then we went to our room. It was very small, it smelled musty, and barefoot the carpet felt sticky and my feet were black. The furniture in the room was very beat up, however, a plus was the bed was nice. We left after one night. This hotel needs to remodel, update there . rooms. We just stayed in a Hampton in Vicksburg, Ms. and it was wonderful!.

  I arrived a little after 10 PM on a typical hot, humid August evening and found my room to be uncomfortably hot. I figured the hotel's policy was to have the maids turn off the air conditioning to save money. However, I was surprised when the air conditioning turned on as I approached the thermostat, and that is when I noticed a motion detector built into the thermostat. The room cooled down to a reasonable temperature before falling asleep, but I woke up in the middle of the night uncomfortably hot. I was sleeping so the motion detector had turned off the air conditioning because it had not detected any motion. I had to get out of bed and move around to get the air conditioning turned back on. I had a difficult time falling back to sleep because of the activity and the room temperature. This is a ridiculous energy saving feature to have in a hotel room in the Gulf Coast of Texas. I spend approximately 40 nights a year in Beaumont and I doubt I'll ever stay at this hotel again unless it's winter.

  If you do not mind pulling off the wall when you turn on the shower, this is the place for you. If you like people who are undressed using the public phone in the foyer, this is the place for you. Very average but unfortunately, Beaumont has few better.
