  The day I checked in, I pulled down the top comforter to find a huge pee stain that had gone through to the mattress. There was also black hair all over the sheets and pillows on both beds! DO NOT STAY HERE!

  We went with a few other people for the fourth of July, and it wasn't a bad place to crash after a night downtown. It's not a four star hotel, but it has a bed, clean sheets and towels, and a bathroom. I would definitely recommend taking a cab if you're planning to go downtown. We made the mistake of walking back and while at the time wasn't a bad idea, my feet were killing me for days after taking the hike in heels. Overall, I got to see fireworks while I got ready to go downtown, had a great time and had a place close to crash. If checkout wasn't so early it would have been even better!!

  We stayed here for a long weekend in Austin. The hotel was nothing fancy, but it was everything we needed. A bed, a shower and a TV. The refrigerator was nice to have, too. This place is just south of downtown. Sixth Street is walkable, though we drove since it rained almost the entire time we were there. If I am ever in Austin again, I will definitely consider Homestead Suites. We caught the South by Southwest rates, but they were still VERY reasonable for downtown Austin in a good area.

  I was appalled the minute i opened the door! my first room had dead roaches on the floor and the trash cans were full. i requested a 2nd room... 11 ...

  I was appalled the minute I opened the door! My first room had dead roaches on the floor and the trash cans were full. I requested a 2nd room... 11 dead crickets in the light fixture, my toaster had NO BOTTOM, cabinets were dirty, dead roach on the bathroom floor, no screen on my window , it just slid right open, the carpet was DIRTY! There was a stain on the wall and when I kicked it , it came off on my shoe! The tv was fuzzy, bed was lumpy, its smelled like mold and I found mold growing up the side of the wall. I picked up the phone and it had a glob of something on it........ There was no headboard or pictures on the wall.... I am not a PRINCESS, but I do require clealiness, safety and comfort!!! IM WARNING STAY AWAY!!!

• Awful smell all week

  Lobby/hallways/public areas all smelled bad consistently for the whole week we were there. we had to hold our breath and run to our room.
