  We were upgraded to a room with a private bath and were very pleased with it. The room and bathroom were very spacious and clean. The floor in the bedroom was very creaky but we found it endearing. If your looking for an easy get away this is it. Chelsea Star is in walking distance of Penn Station and the Subway is very close. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and informative. There is an excellent old fashion bakery half a block away and if you are like us you will want to have the best Cheesecake around first thing in the morning. There are also many good places to eat within a block. We will come back again and recommend it to our friends. You can't beat Chelsea Star for the price and location.

  My three requirements for a hotel room are: Cleanliness, location and price. Chelsea Star met all three. It is conveniently located near Penn Station and the subway. It was very clean and security seemed good. I was very comfortable in the neighborhood. I will be staying there again in October.

  We've stayed at Ch. Star beginning of July for four days. My girlfriend and I booked a superior room which has its own bathroom. We did not stayed at the hotel that much during the day we were out shopping and enjoying this cool city. As this was out first time to NYC we asked lot of questions from the front desk guys. They were always nice and patient with us despite the lot of work they had to do at the same time. The overall experience was great and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a guest oriented place for a bargain in NYC.

  Shopping, Broadway & dining, didn't want to spend our entire budget on accommodation. The superior room was adequate size, very clean and a large bathroom, big enough for two to get ready for a night on the town. As walkers and the location couldn't be better. There is a small courtyard that is great to enjoy your morning coffee. the manager was a wealth of information on New York; where to grab a beer, get a coffee & bagel, galleries/museums, shopping & how to navigate subway. We will stay there again.
