  The first room that they gave us smelled bad. Smelled like a dark, dirty, wet basement. The hotel did us right and put us in a bigger and better smelling room. It was okay. We are off to bed at 10PM. The speaker playing music on in the parking lot is still playing music which comes in through the air conditioner. I ask three different people if it could be turned down after 10PM. The best answer I got was that corporate required the speaker to be played 24 hours a day and the volume control was locked up in a back room somewhere. At 1:30 am I had one person tell me she did not hear anything. So perhaps instead of corporate mandates, Holiday Inn Express should concentrate on taking care of there customers. I had to renew my card key every evening because the one I left with in the morning stopped working. How annoying is that? For 3 days in a row? Not real happy!

  Very clean room with good, firm beds. Within driving distance of Lookout Mountain attractions and area restaurants. Free breakfast included bacon, eggs, and other hot items not found at most hotels. Indoor pool was simple and a little small: water temperature was fine but the air temperature in the pool room is warm enough to be uncomfortable.

  This was a nice hotel. Great rooms...we actually had two rooms. The one with the King Suite was a large and spacious room. Lots of floor space for our two year old to play. The one with two queen beds had adequate space. We had to stay for our daughter to have surgery at T.C. Thompson Hospital and it was relatively close to the hospital. Rooms were very clean and decorated nicely. Staff was friendly.

  The hotel was wonderful and we would stay again, however, we didn't feel very secure. The 2nd day we had misplaced our key card. We went to the front desk, my husband said we had misplaced our key card and what our room number was. We had never seen this particular clerk before and we didn't come through the front of the hotel--we had entered through the back door of the hotel. Without asking any questions or asking for name or I.d.-the hotel clerk gave us a key card for our room. Which is ok because we weren't being dishonest, but it made us a little fearful if someone else had asked for our room key and had been given it while we were out. NEVER NEVER leave any valuables or anything you don't want stolen out. We are always careful, but this was a real eye opener for us. In todays world, you just can't trust like that. We did not have anything stolen from our room, but as easily as it was accessible to anyone who asked--it may have happened. Other than that--cleanliness was excellent and when you have two small children--that is extremely important. Wonderful stay.
