  This hotel is a little off the major streets, but only a 10 min walk from 9th Avenue, which is teaming with restaurants and bars. The staff is friendly, and the hotel is very clean. The rooms are "cozy," but the views from the upper floors (7+) make up for it. Only drawbacks are that the continental breakfast is of the cereal / donut variety, and the hotel is a bit far from a subway station. Other than that it was better than we expected, and a good value for what we paid.

  I stayed at this hotel since it was cheaper than other hotels in new york city. they had just gone under new management and had fired all the other employees. ...

  I stayed at this hotel since it was cheaper than other hotels in New York city. They had just gone under new management and had fired all the other employees. Outside the hotels, protesters would yell at me every time I walked in or out of the hotel. It was very irritating. Also 3 weeks after my visit I discovered an additional charge by the hotel. ( I had payed in advance for my whole stay) After calling the hotel to inquire about the charges, I was informed that there is an extra charge if you use towels!! This hotel was run down and not very professional and after learning that i was charged for not bringing my own towels I would not recommend staying here.

  The Best Western was easy to find although a walk from the shuttle stop from the airport and another bit of a walk to Times Square and all the nite life. The street seemed dark and a little scary at nite, but we felt safe when coming back after a long day out and about. The room was very clean and comfortable enough for as much time as we spent there. The free continental breakfast was comparable to most hotels that offer this service. There is some building going on around the hotel right now, so at 7 am the jack hammer started, but that was when we were getting up anyways. We would stay there again for the price in New York. We found the best thing to do as first time visitors was to take the double decker bus -- all loops tour around Manhattan. We never had to use the subway or taxi and the weather was perfect for it and for walking. The tour guides were very informative and you can hop off and hop back on at any stop although we would have rode the entire tour first and then did the hop on & hop off because they did get busy later in the day. Go to the TKTS ticket outlet after 3 pm and get up to 1/2 off theatre tickets--located at the Marriott Marquee - Theatre/Times Square area. Take a bike/rickshaw in Central Park. These were just a couple of our highlights. Enjoy!!

  My visit was wonderful. The workers there were terrific, very friendly, and helpful. Even the maid on my floor was extremely friendly. I wish this hotel was a little closer to time square, but all in all it was great.
  The area looks shady, but Iam 57 years old and never felt threatend. Go ahead and give this hotel a try, you won't be sorry.
