  ... but other towns aren't that far away. The paper I was given at check-in said "please pardon our dust, we're renovating", but the renovation wasn't the problem. In no particular order, the problems were: room small with no comfortable chair, doors along corridor slam very noisily, toilet seat wouldn't stay up, thermostat in room actively misleading (set it for cool, you get MORE heat than if you set it for heat) -- front desk not helpful, light bulb blew at first use (all right, that one's a nit), exactly ONE tissue in the Kleenex box, housekeeping crew started (again, noisy) at 7:00 a.m. on a Sunday. Given all the indications that they should be spending more on management and supervision, the fact that the newly installed pedestal sink was something I'd expect to find only in a far pricier hotel became an irritant, not a mitigating factor. Next time, I'll stay in Potsdam, or even Ogdensburg.

  The front desk people were not overly helpful
  they never came and made our beds and gave us fresh towels (we stayed 2 nights)

  Stayed in one of the newer very small rooms - nice enough

  Stayed 2 nights. Desk clerks were very courteous, friendly and helpful. Room was large and very clean. Only disappointment was an almost empty roll of toilet paper and no facial tissue in the bathroom when I checked in. This was rectified the next morning. Continental breakfast included, bagels, waffles, donuts, tea & coffee and juice. Tea & coffee was available 24/7. A nice touch!!
