  ...the ONLY thing good about this hotel was the location. I have stayed in some pretty rundown places, but I think this takes the cake. Why? Here is a short list...no carpet on floors (bare concrete, dirty); paper thin walls make for EXTREMELY loud nights (and I am young!); continental breakfast is more like a apple and dry cereal; our room toilet looked like it was from the 1800's and barely holding together; hair on the floors in the main area and bathroom (uck!); standing water when taking a shower. I contacted Travelocity who told me to call back twice, the third time they told me the person they spoke with at the hotel did not have authority to refund me any of the money and to call back some other time. I was trapped at this hotel and that gnome never showed up to help. There are MUCH better hotels in the area, do yourself a favor and pay the extra $100 a night to stay at Royal Palms.

  The hotel is located very close to the beach in an interesting part of Miami Beach. The location is the best thing about the hotel. The rooms are basic with contemporary decorations. Beds are comfortable and the TV picture is pretty good. There is a patio where you can hang out with people and overlook Collins Ave. Shopping is very accessible on Washington Ave. and Oceans Drive. There is no pool, but it has a decent sized hot tub surrounded by palm trees that people hang out in at night. Overall, the hotel was pretty good. It's a little run down in certain areas, but such is expected in a place with high humidity, salt water and sand. They serve breakfast from 7:30 to 10:00. I loved the extended hours (for the late risers). Don't expect to smuggle any of it to your room though. You are given glass dishes and cups. No bacon or eggs, mainly pastries, cereals, apples, juice, etc. The only things I didn't like were the smugness of the staff and the strange smell of the lobby. For being an affordable hotel, the staff are a little too proud and standoffish. But, if you look past these two things, you can have a really good time here. I would recommend it for a younger crowd. It has a very chill atmosphere.

  The staff at the front desk was friendly but the room, well imagine a dorm room and locker room put together. They are in need of renovations. I guess I shouldn't really complain because of the price and location but lat year I stayed at another relatively cheap hotel further south on collins and it was in way better shape. i am normally very easy to please because I expect what I pay for but besides the beds which were nice and comfy, the concrete floor and beat up iron furnishings could truly stand to be updated.

  I arrived on beautiful thurs. a.m. way too early for check-in. Front desk attendant was kind enough to accommodate me with a room, not only that he upgraded my original accommodations from a room to a suite (included separate dining area with refrig. sofa, and table and chairs) that I was very pleased with. Microwave was located in the lounge area. Room exceptionally clean, bed was very clean and comfortable, room service very accommodating to my needs. The location is in the heart of everything!! Shopping, eating, people watching, clubbing, Especially the beach!!! I also made use of the hotel's pool, deck, and lounge. Continental breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here again. Not to mention I left my IPOD there at the front desk charging and didn't realize it until I was at the airport. They made arrangements to have it sent to me once I got home!.

  Myself and 2 girlfriends stayed there for 4 nights and we loved it, we had checked the pictures out online and knew what to expect. The staff in this hotel make it a great place to stay, its in a great location to walk just about everywhere, the beach, bars and clubs! They were happy to give lots of information and called to check out different places we wanted to go. The rooms were basic but super clean and big, with everything you need, the a/c was great and the beds very comfy. Great value for money! The only downside was that it was quite noisy
