  i was put in a smoking room that was almost unbearable to breath in. they were completely booked the first night so i was stuck. they accomadated me the next day and put me in a non-smoking room. too late, my clothes all wreaked of smoke. the hotel doesn't have a shuttle to the airport, costing me another $* for a cab ride.

  Upon arrival I was greeted rudely by the Valet. He was in a rush and did not really give you time to ask questions. Once I entered the Lobby ; is very welcoming; I saw a sign that stated no liability. OK but a cousins, car was hit . It took the Valet over two hours to find his keys. The only advice was file a report. Self parking may be in order. The garage is behind the hotel. I had three rooms. The front desk allowed me to check in 2 hours earlier. They were very helpful as to explaining about the city and transportation. Two rooms needed some work. On each floor you are able to look down into the lobby. My room had several problems- dusty blinds, the bedding did not fit properly, a blinking light and a hugh spot on the bathroom ceiling. After I called to complain, I was told that they are renovating. Would have like to knew that. I expected less, the carpet in the hallway was filthy, The stairwells, they smelled bad. When you get to the ground you must go through the team members door. My children who love using the stairs took the elevator instead. Room service was great. The food arrived on time and was hot. The children loved TGIF being on the premise. The Banquet was nicely decorated. The food was excellent. The hotel gave every member a free cookie. The maid service was poor. The hotel ran out of towels. I had to wait 1.5 hours for towels. Upon leaving, I waited 2 hours for a bellman to come. I carried my own bags down. They never called. Of course they were they were dealing with my cousin. Overall, it is in a great location, near everything.

  I was pleasantly surprised to find a corner room waiting for us upon check-in. A huge upgrade from what I thought I would get booking a package deal. The front service desk was more then accommodating with a warm chocolate chip cookie not just at check-in but every night I came in. Perfect, if not decadent way, to end the evening! The one reason I booked this hotel was because of their beds and they did not disappoint. I have been to Memphis many times and the one thing they don't do downtown is breakfast. There is a TGI Friday's attached to the hotel that served a reasonable buffet until 11 which my husband really appreciated. My only issue with the hotel was the $20 a day Valet Parking but there is a way around that. All in all, I was very happy with the hotel. I would not hesitate to choose this same hotel again for the next trip.

  Spent 3 days recently at the downtown Doubletree and was extremely disappointed. The lobby is clean and appears nice but it ends there. The carpet in the hallways and rooms is the dirtiest I have ever seen in a 2+ star hotel. Paint was peeling off the ceiling in my room and there were broken fixtures. They advertise that all rooms have been recently renovated but there is no way this is true.

  the staff was very friendly and quick to help you with what ever questions or needs you may have. it was close to the museums i wanted to go to plus it's walking distance to beale st. the only problems i had was the rooms and beds were very small (plan on one person per bed) if you want to sleep comfortable. the parking is outrageous at $20.00 per day for hotel guest
