  My sister and I stayed here for our weeklong trip. Of course staying right in the city would be nice, but way too expensive! There is a subway stop very close to the hotel, and you could be standing in Times Square in 10 minutes. The subway is great, we never took a cab or bus. The hotel is cute and what we expected for the price. There is a restaurant nearby that we went to every morning for breakfast as the hotel breakfast was... limited. I loved our trip to New York, and loved the hotel. I think it is a great budget option for a trip to NY. I have recommended it to my parents. Another great thing is that the staff let us keep our luggage there after our check out until our flight. My only idea there would be to keep it more secure. It was kind of a suitcase free-for-all. I could have traded up if I wanted to. Overall, great choice!

  My daughter lives in NYC, and when we checked into the hotel she was with me and said ""Wow this is a big room for New York City!"" We had a great stay, the location was convenient and about 1 1/2 blocks to the subway, the hotel was quiet and clean, and the complimentary breakfast was a plus to staying at the LaQuinta. We ate at a nearby restaurant on the first night - Pete's Grill - and the food and portions were great! I had read some of the reviews saying that the staff were not friendly, but I didn't find that true. All you have to do is smile and ask your question, and they were very helpful. Also, the desk clerk greeted me by name when we checked in. That's a bonus in my book!

  This hotel is very clean and in a very safe area. felt safe walking from the no. 7 train to the hotel even late at night.

  I traveled from Indiana to NYC with 4 friends from high school and we were all pleased with the room, cost, and location to NYC. Allow about 30 minutes total time from when you leave the hotel to walk to the subway and take it into Times Square. The room was clean, breakfast area was well stocked in the morning and our trip went well. The only problem we had was at the end of our trip when I asked the front desk if they could call a taxi. A guy pulls up in an SUV (no taxi ensigna or meter) and goes inside and talks to the front desk. We asked the driver how much to take us to LaGuardia and he said $45. It only cost us a total of $20 to get from LaGuardia to the hotel when we arrived (that included a tip too) so we told him we would find another way to the airport. The front desk told us you can't call a yellow taxi--they have no phone number??? I was told that you have to use a private company to get you back to the airport which seems totally absurd that you can't call for a taxi from your hotel. We did manage to flag a yellow tax down that was driving by, however, you might want to check the taxi situation out prior to leaving and trying to catch a flight on time. It's possible we were undercharged the first time, but at least always ask how much before you get into the cab.
