  We needed to make a trip to Ft. Hood, TX, to bring our 7 month pregnant daughter home after her husband was deployed to Afghanistan. In an effort to save on expenses we brought our two small dogs with us. We were initially pleased to find a pet-friendly hotel with both quality and rates that we were comfortable with - that is until we started the check-in process. After 10 hours of traveling, we finally reached the hotel, anxious to get the dogs settled and find somewhere to eat dinner. At check-in I was told that there was a $75.00 non-refundable pet deposit. This was certainly a bit of a surprise and it was definitely too late to try to locate another hotel that accepts pets. Something like a $25.00 pet deposit was expected since that is pretty much the norm but $75.00 is an outrageous sum - our small dogs could never in their whole lives do that much damage. If the hotel is not going mention this deposit in their information, then the travel website should inform their users of this additional charge. When I contacted the travel agency they simply indicated that we should have read the terms and conditions of the inventory. Seasoned travelers are aware of potential charges that can be added to the bill, however, one as large as $75.00 can certainly put a damper on anyone's trip.

  It is an extended stay hotel. Very friendly staff, and accomidations are great. If you are PCSing to Ft.Hood it is a great place to stay especially if you have pets. Very pet friendly. clean hotel and new, just recently built, you will not be disappointed if you are picky about your hotels.
