Went to visit our daughter since she was not able to get home for Christmas due to work. She recommended Bolongo and we upgraded to ocean front. St Thomas Dive Club runs a small boat there which is way better than those large crowded dive boats. one dive was just the three of us and another day was five and third day just two. WAY better than a crowd. We are planning to return in a few months and will stay there again. Did not get the all inclusive because our daughter knows all the local places and it seemed a bit pricy.

My fiance and I stayed at Bolongo Bay for 8 days and 7 nights and I can say that it was the best stay I've ever had on a resort. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. We did go from December 14th to the 21st so it was a little quiet because of the holiday season but overall it was a nice stay! As soon as we pulled up and checked in Simon the bell man took us to our room and greeted us with a rum punch drink! If you are going to go you have to stay for Carnival Night...It's definitley an experience and it seems like its the talk of the town! And, if you want a good Pina Colada "Jack" is a GREAT bartender! We did rent a car and as far as I'm concerned it was well worth it! We put over 160 miles on the car and we saw the WHOLE island from one end to the other! I don't really recommend the taxi's, if you want to experience the island you need to see it for yourself! Also, after reading a lot of travelers comments (the negative ones) I really need to say that if you don't like the place then don't post...what's the point!! It's not the Ritz or anything but you're hardly in your room anyway and if you are then you're not experiencing the island like you should be! You pay soooo much money to come down here and post things like there weren't enough towels or toilet paper....get a life and stay at the Ritz where you should be! But seriously, if you're looking for a nice quiet, laid back place this is where you should go!

We had a great week at Bolongo Bay during Thanksgiving week 2009. The staff was helpful and kept the beach and rooms clean. Each day they raked the sand and swept off the sidewalks. Snorkeling is great off the rocky point and we took advantage of the wave runners, sailing and Heavenly Days booze cruise with snorkeling. Lisa at Iggie's was great and Laura at the store was very helpful. XYZ greeted us with rum punch when checking in. I went scuba diving with Jessica of the Dive club. Sea turtles abound and you might see a ray or barracuda as well. St. Thomas is a beautiful location and we visited Magen's bay and Lindquist beach as well as two beaches on St. John. This is an older, family owned resort and not a luxury chain. Our room was on the ground floor and we were able to get to the beach in less than 10 steps. The view was beautiful. We participated in the Carnival and Karaoke entertainment nights at Iggie's as well. Kids had fun chasing the iguanas that live on the resort.

Its small, old, in need a a face lift. No elevators, lots a walking and stairs. Reminded me of the old Holiday Inns of the 60's where there were no interior hallways and lots of concrete. An OK place to sleep, but the other services/activities are not worth the price. I was there in off season when prices were 30% off. Had I been there for the all-inclusive, I would have been very disappointed. Expect to pay $8 for a drink and $20 for a basic dinner. Be sure to arrange for taxi in advance and expect to tip the bellman if you want the taxi at a specific time. Some of the staff was friendly and helpful, others were sullen and uninterested in providing service. (But that I found to be true all over the island).

We went to St. Thomas for our honeymoon and stayed at Bolongo Bay. With some of the mixed reviews that we read before booking the inclusive package, I must admit that we were a little skeptical. After staying at Bolongo Bay for six nights, we simply could not understand how this place was receiving some bad reviews. From the moment we arrived at the resort, the staff made us feel so welcome and that they were actually excited to have us. They carried our bags to our room while we were getting settled at the front desk. They even surprised us with a bottle of champagne when they found out it was our honeymoon. Not only do they know how to treat their guests here, but the resort, without a doubt, has to give the best island feel of any resort on the island. You don't feel like you're staying at a corporate hotel resort at Bolongo Bay. If you're looking for something to do at night after the resort bar & grill closes around 11 pm or so , taxi to the Red Hook bar district and go to Duffy's ...they'll make you feel right at home as well. Another thing you have to do is take an island tour of St. Thomas. Our island tour was so much fun and you get to see all the best sites around St. Thomas. The main reason our tour was so memorable was due to our island tour guide. Her name is Delita and we have her number if you wanted to schedule about a two-hour tour that we highly recommend.
