The room was large and roomy. the shower was a little dated and needs to be upgraded. several restaurants and activities throughout the hotel give options other than gambling.

The hotel has a great appearance ..very beautiful entrance. The girl at check-in was a bit rude but just blew it off. When we got to our room it was just like any other room..the bathroom old and tiles falling apart. Well we paid a cheap rate and well it served its purpose.

I stayed here when it was a Hilton and didn't like it. They've managed to get rid of the sterile Hilton ambience for the most part. My room was very large and had a great view of the city and mountains. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I stayed in the "standard," non-luxury portion of the hotel. The carpeting was frayed around the edges and the bathroom looked like nothing had changed since the Hilton era, but the real problem was the housekeeping. Finger smudges on the window were never cleaned up during my four-night stay, and there was a stain on a table (my fault) which was never cleaned up either. The hotel seems a little mixed up in its image. There are very upscale and elegant restaurants and sleek, sophisticated bars side-by-side with a Texas line-dancing bar, go-kart racetrack and other child-friendly attractions. It's also pet-friendly, so the place is crawling with kids and dogs. The pool area, once a Nikki Beach outlet, is just The Beach now and looks a little worse-for-wear. The spa-exercise area is windowless and not very attractive compared to what you can find elsewhere in Reno, but the prices for spa treatments are lower. I think they need to make up their minds whom they are trying to target. The upscale Charlie Palmer Steak restaurant was very good; attentive service, an interesting wine list and perfectly cooked steak. The adjacent bar offered a limited menu which included steaks and seafood. The coffee shop offered a good selection of choices, and included a bar where you could eat and watch sports on TV. Didn't try the buffet. The casino is on the small side. Overall, I'd come back for the service, the spacious rooms and the food.

We stayed for 3 nights. Thursday was great only because the hotel was not outrageously busy. I loved our room, the view and our sweet housekeeper. Come Friday that is when the entire stay became a turn off. It was packed and we waited 30 minutes to board the elevator to get to the lobby. All Friday night we heard people slamming doors and shouting down the hallway.. We even upgraded when we arrived and stayed on the Summit side of the hotel thinking it would be away from the riff raff, we were wrong. When my family went to the pool during the day the bartender was not friendly at all. I would have complained but I probably will never return to the Reno pit again.
