Beware of the Travel Lodge!

I was picked up by the hotel shuttle and watched the promotional video on the way to the Spa. I was pumped to be staying in the luxurius setting that th the video detailed: modern rooms with spectacular views, access to the convention center, restaurants, pool and spa. As I was handed old-school metal keys, and asked "Are you familiar with our travel lodge?" the video replaying inside my head skipped... The concierge gave directions to, "Go to the end of the casino, out the doors to your left and through the parking lot." After viewing the out of date room, with mismatched decor, mirrored wall behind behind the headboards, black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom, and musty-dusty wall-mounted furnace, I walked back to the front desk and begged for another room. I offered to pay the difference -no matter what the price. I was moved the next night to the concierge level and paid an additional $* per night. The Concierge level was clean, but not worth $*/night. I would have went to another hotel if I had not been attending a conference in the Reno Sparks Convention center.

I had a short business trip to Reno and had the pleasure of staying at the Atlantis in their new concierge rooms. spacious, great beds, steam shower, flat screen TV, all the comfortable necessities and even a big hottub! i was realt surprised with the new renovations in the hotel, including an awesome new state of the art spa . we also ate at Napa Bistro and had the best desser ever - a 'burger' made of donuts, brownies, mangos, etc - great presentation. super friendly staff, great rates, highly recommend. i also saw the new meeting space which is gorgeous and would go back with colleagues for a meeting.

The only thing I like about this place was the spa there was nothing to do here I did not like the motor lodge my room was non smoking but people would stand outside and smoke and the wind would bring the smoke through the window unit.

I have stayed here twice in the last year due to the airport shuttle. I was scheduled on early morning flights out of Reno, and there is no airport transportation in the area ;parking isn't cheap either;. I found the beds to be very comfortable, the rooms clean and neat, and the views of the surrounding city were wonderful. The staff was courteous and helpful in every way, even on the 6:00 AM shuttle. Even though I do not enjoy gambling, I will continue to use the Atlantis as my base when I am scheduled on an early flight out of town, it sure beats the hassle of airport parking!

The rooms are amazing and the Spa is incedible. They haven't fully renovated the whole hotel, but most is done. This place is GREAT!! Get the salt scrub and enjoy the entire spa. You'll be very glad you did!
