The Gold Coast is a terrific place to stay! All the amenities are there. The shuttle will take you to the strip for no charge any time. Please tip the driver. From the strip you can take the Deuce (bus) to Downtown (Old Las Vegas) or almost anywhere in the city for $* per trip or $* for a 24 hour pass. The Gold Coast itself has great gambling. Any slot/video game you can think of and table games, sports book, keno, 70 lane bowling alley, great restaurants including buffet with a great variety of food. The staff is extremely helpful and cordial. Our room was clean and attractive and smoke free. The corridor (eighth floor) was also smoke free and the room was quiet with a great view. Everything worked perfect, shower, TV, lights, phone with absolutely no problems. Wake up calls were exactly on time. The $* per night hotel fee was very reasonable compared to other hotels. They all have a fee and this one was disclosed well in advance. We told them it was our anniversary and they upgraded the room when we checked in without any questions and gave us a free buffet to boot. I cannot say a bad thing about the Gold Coast. Will stay there again without question. Excellent and convenient place to stay in Vegas. Thumbs up!!

We stayed four nights in May. Check in and check out were smooth and swift. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Never had a wait for the shuttle to the strip. The breakfast buffet was very good. We visited TGI Fridays often which had excellent service. Beautiful bowling center upstairs.

While not on the strip this hotel offers a bargain experience. The room was clean although we did have two issues. Hot water and the ice machine on our floor was not working, but both repaired within fifteen minutes of the call to the front desk. Free shuttle to the strip was a great plus. The buffet was not up to par, but there are other places to eat in the casino area. Overall the hotel and staff were very helpful with questions and directions.

We were very pleased with our room at the Gold Coast. This was our first venture off-strip, so we were a little worried about the quality of the hotel, and the convienience of getting to the strip and other parts of town. However, our fears were unjustified. The room was very nice, not fancy or elegant, but clean, roomy, and modern. The casino was a little older looking than the typical strip casino, but the broader variety of gaming options "especially low-minimum tables"; more than made up for this. Just to be fair, a few negatives: 1. The view from the room was horrible. We were in a first-floor room that faced an alleyway that led to the pools. Directly in front of the window was a huge spotlight that light up the side of the building at night. So, in daytime, we got a lovely view of all the dead bugs on the spotlight, and at night, a blinding light. Closing the curtains solved both problems. An upper-level room would be much nicer for the view. 2. Much like many of the cheaper Vegas hotels recently, Gold Coast Charges a "resort fee" of $3 a day. This is separate from the room fee, and is not an option. The hotels obviously use this tactic to make their rates appear cheaper on internet sites, and it is quite frankly a scam. 3. The shuttle to the strip goes to Bill's Gambling Hall (formerly Barbary Coast). There is no other free shuttle available, so if you are heading somewhere else on the strip, you will need to take a second transport (monorail, bus, trolley, cab) from there.
