We enjoyed our stay at the Travelodge Hotel- we only stayed there as a stopover on the the way to a cruise in Fort Lauderdale, and for that the hotel was perfect. The room was quite large and had facilities we expected such as a fridge, phone, ironing board, bathroom and a safe. We also had an additional sink and cupboard area. The room seemed a little old as did the furnishings, but overall we got above what we expected to recieve for the money we paid, and the continental breakfast was a bonus. One bad note- when we left we were in a hurry and left behind a battery charging unit plugged into the wall. When we got back from our cruise and went back to the hotel to ask if it had been handed in the manager was not very helpful- she spent about 20 minutes on the phone and when we told her what room we were in and what we had left, she checked a clipboard for lost and found items and said it had not been logged. She didn't make any particular effort to help us, and whilst I understand if another guest had taken it, cleaning staff should have reported it in the first place, and she didn't offer to check if it was still there. Oh well.

After having to deal w/ the original hotel we had booked, which was down the street from this one & was the worst experience ever, we found this hotel & left the other one immediately. Anything would have been a step up from what we left, but this was decent & very reasonable. Right across the street was the beach which was nice. Overall we were glad we found this hotel & we would stay again.

I was very dissapointed in the room. It wasn't at all like the one in the brochurer. It was small, not much space between the bed and clothes rack keep knocking things down. No sprinkler system , and NO exhaust fan in the bathroom. Also the parking was space was very, very limited. Our car was broken into one night. The Sheets were to small for the bed and not changed every, carpet needed to be cleaned, and celing panels were falling down in the bathroom. Other than that it was great.

My sister, Aunt , cousin and myself looked at the online pictures and decided the rooms looked older but nice and because of the online name we booked 2 rooms. We got two rooms that connected, one non smoking and one smoking, my cousin took the smoking room because he had smoked in the past and didn't think the smell would bother him. The first thing that hit us when we opened the door to the NON smoking room was the over powering smell of smoke. We then went into my cousins room and the first thing we noticed was the horrible carpet. Of course we wanted to turn right around and cancel our rooms but they have a very strict no refund policy, you need a 24 hour notice. My cousin cancelled his other 2 nights. I can't describe how awful these rooms were. It looked like there was dried blood or feces on the cabinet doors in the bathrooms. We checked for bed bugs, that's how bad the rooms looked. One morning we were having breakfast and a customer who apparently was very unhappy with his room and had tried to cancel screamed out, yelling up at us and anyone who could hear that they would not give a refund and that he would never stay there and then he drove off. I had to wash everything when I got home because I smelled of smoke, even my hair dryer when I turned it on at home blasted out the smell of smoke. The carpets, the walls, the whole room was in bad shape, we didn't walk around without socks. It looked as if the carpets had been flooded in the past and dried out. Even if they offered these rooms free, we'd never stay again!
