- Please note that the resort charges a daily resort fee of 22.30 per unit per day, which is not included in the taxes and gratuities paid at time of booking. The resort fee is payable to the hotel directly upon check-out. The fee includes the following: use of hard tennis courts, fitness center, all swimming pools and lagoons, beach chairs and towels, local and toll-free calls (up to 15 minutes). All fees are subject to change without notice.

Read all the other reviews before going including some on other sites. Don't believe most of it. This was a terrific place, made my family feel like millionaires. Since we planned ahead and booked through travel website we got a fantastic package. Airfare and rental car included for less then the published room per night rate. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My kids loved the pirate ship and the game room. We all enjoyed the main pool and the lagoon. The nightly fire by the main pool is even nicer then the pictures on the resorts website. The food on the resort was overpriced so we quickly adjusted to breakfast in our villa and lunch and dinner south in Marathon. The place by the dolphin research center (forget the name) 3 miles south on Rt1 was good food at a great price and the best key lime pie.

Please understand the resort itself is nice but it has a strong lack of organization at the front office and the front desk. Along with the front desk staff being rude, crude and down right nasty. I stayed here and was invited back to the resort to make up for the first visit and I was harrassed by the front desk staff that I could not have what the resort general manager promised me and I had a gift certificate saying what was comped!! After being HARRASSED all morning by the front desk staff. So my entire morning was shot on a vacation that I planned my entire trip arround my return trip to this resort and I get no appology only more attitude at check out and no call or email from the resort offering an appology either. I wish I had taped it all for viewing. I can only say after reading the reviews and the way I was treated it is only a matter of time before this resort even with making good deal offers hurts itself. There is nothing to do near this resort-Key West is over an hour away and Key West has a large selection of motels, hotels and resorts. Plus most of those also have excellent customer service. If I am paying good money espically in todays economy I want people to be nice to me!!

Extremely Unprofessional and Uncourteous Front Desk Staff - Reservations made and paid for On time ( with full payment made in advance) credit card transactions got busted. they showed: as NO reservations. Then they later messed up further giving and showing more uncourteous behaviors as if they dont care...who would want to come and stay there ? you tell me...especially when you could be in the middle of the trip - going there. thanks to these Hawks Cay Resort folks in Duck Key. its a totaL NO Go. points given to them is a big Zero out of 5

When we checked in they did not have our reservation from online travel website. Nothing under my name. Good thing I brought the copy of the reservation that I had printed out or I would not have got the same rate. They were very nice about it and just asked if they could make a copy of my printed reservation. After that all went well but I can't imagine what would have happened if I did not have a copy. Next time I make a reservation with Travelocity I will call ahead and make sure I have the reservation.

I stayed there in Nov. 2008. My complaints are numerous but I will only give the highlights. First off I requested a crib in my room. I even called from Miami airport to verify that my crib was there because we were getting in late and the baby was tired. They told me that yes it was present but in fact it wasn't. I then called guest services and they delivered it to the wrong villa. When my mother-in-law told them that it was the wrong villa the employee told her""they can come over here and get it. It is not my job to deliver it twice"". What a nice welcome to the hotel. To add insult to injury my villa was infested with ants and had over a day of bickering to get my room changed. The management of this hotel is as bad as it gets. There are plenty of beautiful resorts in the keys. Pick another one.
