Overpowering room "freshener

Apparently many of the rooms on the 4th floor (and possibly others) are smoking. The smell of smoke is apparent when exiting the elevator. Also very apparent is the overpowering scent of orange. Upon entering my room, I encountered the same orange scent. I am sensitive to odors and prefer NO smell! After asking the front desk personnel to note that an air freshener not be used in this room for the remainder of my stay, I went back to the room to investigate and discovered that the room was equipped with its own "air freshener". They resemble the type seen in public restrooms, attached to the wall near the ceiling adjacent to the window. The device contained a cannister titled "Mandarin Orange" and it was not difficult to remove it, although it did require standing on a chair. The offensive cannister was then placed outside the room. Later in the day, the hotel placed an ozone machine (there's another possible hazard!) to remove the remaining odor. They did say it couldn't be run while there were people in the room, but upon my return to the room later in the day, the odor was almost completely gone. Thankfully, the cannister was not replaced. I did take the precaution of re-notifying the front desk on Saturday morning, as the housekeeping staff changes for the weekend.
The Sleep Number bed was no better than a regular bed in my opinion, and in one way was worse. If you sit on the edge of the bed to talk on the phone or put your shoes on, you won't want to do it here. It feels like sitting on the edge of a piece of wood. Not comfy!
The alarm clock buttons were so small, it was impossible to find the shut off. -

08/30/2007Hotel was clean, beds were comfy as heck!, food was good and inexpensive. overall a great value! i thouroughly enjoyed my stay at this radisson location. highly recommended.

Given the number of hotels in the Phoenix area, I would pass on this one. The rooms are worn and tired. The day we were there the pool area was dirty and littered.
