Excellent accomodations. Close, but not in the quarters, right accross the street from the French Market. Could not hear anything in our room. We were on the 2nd floor in building 5 with a balcony, had super weather for December. Would highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting to be close but not in the quarters. Staff was excellent and friendly.

Typical older hotel room in New Orleans. Good bed, spacious room, small bathroom (about avg for old New Orleans location), nice courtyard. Clean bathroom fixtures and bed sheets, not so clean floor (we found candy and used bandaids in plain view) or details like table pedestal, bureau drawers, towel rack brackets. There was a gap of about 1-1 1/2 inches between the bottom of the door and the threshhold, plenty of room for pests to enter, although we did not see evidence of any. Great staff, parking and good location made this a really satisfying stay for the price.

We wanted to stay in a nice little hotel in the French Quarter. We knew the rooms would be small, and it would be old, but we were sorely disappointed after we walked into our room. First, let me say that the service was very good, and the staff very friendly. Our room was small as expected (not all all like the pictures), but it was falling apart. The door was difficult to secure and made it a little uneasy at night. The sink didn't drain well (it took about 10 minutes to drain, and even then didn't drain completely). We asked them to fix it and they never did. The bathroom door wouldn't shut properly, and the shower was demon possessed. The shower would go from warm, to scalding hot without warning, then it would switch to ICE COLD!!! I'm not exaggerating here....I had no idea water from the shower could get that cold. Additionally, the towel rod was falling down. So to sum up....I have stayed in equivalent rooms in third world countries...and paid much less. It is not worth the money.

Hotel Provencial is a moderate priced hotel in the heart of the French Quarter and included a continental breakfast and parking. The room was very nice with antique furnishings and a balcony. The only drawback for us as seniors was no elevator for a second floor room. Highly recommend it. New Orleans is such a great place.
