We priced various hotels in the area for our 4 night weekend trip and all verified the Embassy as the best deal in town available. The hotel is perfectly located a block and a half from the River Walk entrance, a few blocks from Harrah's, and a decent walk to the French Quarter. Clean but older. Breakfast every morning was very good, and a great way to start the day. Drinks in the late afternoon were better than fair (well pour) but were plentiful and refreshing. We partook of the happy hour daily. One of the best amenities of the hotel however is My Ricky! Make a point to speak with him early on during your stay. He knows everything about the city, and can tell you stories about nearly any topic. For some of the venues we wanted to visit, he had passes or discount tickets to provide. For eating, he had spot on recommendations about where to go, which ways to travel there, and what to order. While the rest of the staff seemed very professional and courteous, Mr. Ricky goes out of his way to make you feel like a personal friend. Mr. Ricky inquired about our transportation back to the airport, and we mentioned we needed to have him setup. He asked how many in our party and when we needed to be at the airport. He arranged for a stretch limo to take us back at the same price that a cab would have cost. Mr. Ricky is 1st class all the way, and raises the bar on service and quality. I know my party will always stay at the Embassy whenever possible - just to spend a little more time going where Mr. Ricky recommends! See you in December! Ritz

Has 3 rooms at this hotel for 1 night. All 3 had numerous crickets, yes crickets in them. Told the manager he said they knew and there was nothing they could do about it. Crickets jumped on us during the night. How crazy is that. I stay at Embassy Suites often and this is the worst I have ever stayed in. Old rooms, furniture old and worn.

I stayed there during the NO Jazz Fest...busy time. I must say the hotel was not as expected. I have stayed at several Embassy Suites and this one was not up-to-date for what it cost p0er night. It was definitely not worth $229.00 a night. Yes I understand it's the area and the city. It was in a convenient location, however we were forced to use valet parking (no option) to park any where else. THe room amenites could be updated. TV didn't work, sofa was small and stained and smelled like cigarettes even though I was in a non-smoking room. THis brings up another point...I have not been in an upscale hotel that still allows smoking in many years . Some of the other Embassy Suites should donate modern amenites. I had a corner suite so I was away from traffic and enjoyed the peacefulness of the area. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great.

My husband and I travel to New Orleans often, but this was one of the best hotel accomodations I have had. From the day we entered to the day we left, everyone was friendly, helpful and truly made our stay there a very memorable one. Desma, thank you! It's excellent location made it an added value. The buffet breakfast and the free libations in the afternoon, after a long perhaps hot day of sight seeing, took it over the top! The bedding was tremendously comfortable. I'll stay there again and again, they definetly have it right! C.S.
