Hotel was great after we changed rooms because the air conditioner was not working. We paid $ per night to park in their underground parking. The spaces were very small and tight. The 2nd night we got back late and there were no parking spaces available, so we went to the front desk and complained. We had to park in the handicapped space as they were not expecting anyone else that evening. If the parking was better - I would consider staying at this hotel again.

Pleasant and convenient
06/11/2008Very convenient to seattle center (needle, other attractions), walkable to art museum and piers, where the free "streetcar" (temporarily a bus) runs the length. excellent breakfast, other nice amenities.

We had friends come into town from CA for a quick trip and they did not want to have to rent a car. We stayed at Homewood, as it was only a couple blocks from Seattle Center. We walked to the center, took the Monorail downtown, went to the market and Post Alley and then made our way back. Later that night we walked to Key Arena for a concert. The hotel was absolutely perfect for this. We had a suite on the west side so we had a great view of Elliott Bay. Could not have asked for anything better. The staff was friendly and accomodating. Lastly, my husband is a wheelchair user and the hotel was more than accomodating to our needs. The only thing we found bad was that the eggs were cold at the complimentary breakfast. We would absolutely stay again!

Housekeeping and cleanliness a problem

pros: great location, some free parking available, excellent free hot breakfast ...Our family has enjoyed staying in Homewood Suites properties before, but on balance, this experience was poor.
Pros: Great location, some free parking available, excellent free hot breakfast bar (and afternoon reception Mon-Thurs), comfortable rooms and beds, free rollaways on first come-first served basis, relatively quiet even in high-traffic areas of the hotel (we were near the elevators)
Only one con (but it's a big one) Pull-out bed was dirty, covered in popcorn inside with a remote control stuck inside the bed. Clearly, the pull-out hadn't been cleaned in some time, and had to be completely re-made before it could be used. We reported the problem to the front desk. The next morning, our family went down to breakfast around 8:45 a.m., leaving the Privacy key in the door. We returned from breakfast and left the room for the day by 9:30 a.m., removing the Privacy sign. After a full day of sight-seeing, we returned to find our room completely untouched. When I called the front desk, I was referred to Housekeeping, who asked me if I had a voice mail message. There was in fact a message, from 5:30 p.m., stating that since Housekeeping hadn't been able to access the room (since they saw the Privacy sign between 8:45 and 9:30 a.m.), they hadn't cleaned it. I was asked to leave a message for the Director of Houskeeping, who never returned my call. When I checked out, I expressed my dissatisfaction, and was told that the hotel manager would call me on Monday - no call has been forthcoming.
Since these suites have to be paid for in advance, I got the impression (right or wrong), that once the money is in hand, the level of service for Housekeeping drops off at this property.
