Second Trip to Sam's Town. Loved it so much the first time, that we went back for three of our four nights in Vegas. Check In Time is at Three PM, but we got there at before eight AM. They were able to get us in a room by noon, which was really nice of them. The buffet continues to impress me. Some people may not think it is all that great, but I love it. True, the flashing lights over the buffet are a little annoying, but it is well worth putting up with them. They have a great biscuits and gravy at breakfast, along with an omelete station. Wednesday night is Italian Night, and they will cook your pasta order right in front of you at the buffet. Chicken Parmesean is to die for. Cocktail service is fair. Depends on what time you are in the casino. Sometimes, it is very good, but others, it can be slow. The room was awesome, as it was last time. I wish they had extra pillows though. We used the seat back cushions from the chairs for extra pillows and they worked great for that. Took the shuttle to Freemont Street. SAVE YOUR MONEY and ride the shuttle! It is free!

Upon check in I was upgraded to a nicer room on the top floor. Floor location was ok for me and the room was ok except for writing on the wall (kids). The bathroom was horrible! Tub and Sink would not drain, water temp in the shower was scalding hot or luke warm, and the toilet clogged up. Called the front desk and the only thing fixed was the toilet. Mainly an older crowd (like a nursing home). Plenty of things to do like movies (guests should get a discount but don't), bowling, sports. Ate at the buffet for dinner one night. Presentation was not appealing, food was very salty or very bland, there were flashing lights over the buffet and those of us with poor vision this made viewing the food a challenge at times. Would not go back to the buffet. Staff were friendly and helpful and always had a smile. Would stay there again but would check the bathroom to make sure everything worked.

Overall we had a wonderful trip to Vegas. Our Reservations with Travelocity were superb. Prices were good. Service was excellent. The only complaint of the whole 4 day trip was that the beds at Sam's Town rooms were extremely hard. We sleep on firm mattresses at home, but these were way harder. The floor would of been more comfortable if hygeine wouldn't matter. But all other amenities were excellent. We probably will not go there again just because we did not get solid sleep and gave us too much discomfort.

I did a LOT of research picking out our hotel for our trip to Vegas. I am really glad we chose Sam's Town. This place is NOT on the strip. It is on the Boulder Highway, about eight miles from the airport. No airport shuttle. This has to be one of the friendliest places I have been to. It is not super crowded like the strip hotels, and it caters to local folks, who are extremely friendly and helpful. We made a few friends that asked us to contact them when we return. All the games you could want are there, table games, slots, keno, racing, bingo, etc. The place has a sixteen screen movie theater and a fifty two lane bowling alley as well. Everything you need is here, even a variety of food. The Firelight Buffet was awesome. All you can eat breakfast was less than $*, and lunch and dinner can be had at the buffet for under twelve bucks. They also have a high end steak house as well as inexpensive chains like McDonalds, Sbarro, Panda Wok, and Subway. Also, the TGI Fridays is open 24 hours. Really no need to leave if you dont want to, but if you do, they have a free shuttle in a nice big bus to Harrah's and to Freemont Street. Maid service was awesome. Did a fantastic job every day. Clean and comfortable. Mystic Forest is really nice as well. This place is absolutely the best place to go for your money, if you dont mind NOT being on the strip! We are going back in December. LOVE THIS PLACE.
