I chose the Fairfield Inn at Opryland because of its proximity to the Grand Ole Opry. And based upon the favorable reviews online, I thought this would be a ""no-brainer."" Whoops! When we arrived, there were tell tale signs of renovation. No problem. That was on the outside. The front desk was only about half there. There were tiles missing throughout the main area. The breakfast area was a mess. The clerk offered no apologies or any advice. The room had a gym time odor. Turning on the AC helped. We left soon. When we returned later in the evening, the odor had dissipated. When I went for some ice, I found that the ice machine on the first floor did not work. The attendant (not the same one) never stopped looking at the TV as I passed her to get to the ice machine. When I inquired about ice, she just said, ""Second floor."" Upon getting to the second floor, I found the renovations were in earnest there. I hope no one was booked there! Fairfiled should indicate clearly when they have a property being renovated. They should also go out of their way to make the experience for the customers who use their properties feel comfortable.

Lodging a staff of four on a transcontinental business trip is never easy; everyone seems to have a different opinion of where to stay, comfort and quality. We hit the jackpot, however, staying at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Nashville at Opryland. The staff was attentive, friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and there was little or no noise throughout out four night stay. Breakfast was good but pretty standard. The Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches were a good source of protein. The hotel was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. Our organization feels we got a good deal for the money we spent and would recommend this hotel for stays in the future.

Check-in was easy, room was very nice, clean and each bed had 4 pillows. This was probably the softest, most comfortable bed I've ever slept on for an overnight stay. Also a nice flat screen TV. One problem was there was not a vent in the bathroom, so when showering it fogged up horribly. Just a minor inconvenience.

After looking at Days Inn Music Row I was appalled and desparate to find a clean nice hotel. The staff were warm and hospitable at FAirfield Inn. I can't say enough good things about the staff, they made our stay in Nashville just wonderful. The hotel was clean, the beds were wonderful, it was quiet and the housekeeping staff were very friendly. I will be staying there every time I go to Nashville from now on. Highly recommend.
