OUR EXPERIENCE WITH STAYING AT GARDEN PLAZA

THIS HOTEL DID NOT HAVE A MICROWAVE IN THE ROOM AND WE HAVE A SMALL BABY THAT HAS TO HAVE HEATED BOTTLES. OUR ROOM DID NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE POOL WITHOUT GOING OUTSIDE AND WAKING A LONG DISTANCE.WE HAD NO COFFEE POT IN OUR ROOM EITHER.THE FRIGE WAS LOCATED IN THE BATHROOM SINK AREA NEXT TO THE RESTROOM...EEWWW. THE FRIGE FROOZE EVERYTHING WE HAD IN IT. THE BATHROOM DOOR WAS BUSTED AND WOULD NOT LOCK.THE CARPET HAD A HUGE STAIN ON IT.THE BEDS WERE VERY SMALL AND HARD. ALSO, THE TV ONLY HAS VERY FEW CHANNELS TO CHOOSE FROM. WE WERE GUEST AT THE GARDEN PLAZA ONLY 5 DAYS AGO. IT WAS VERY INCONVENIENT TO HAVE TO WALK SO FAR AND HEAT A BOTTLE ALL THE WAY DOWN IN THE LOBBY AT 4:00 AM.I WAS TOLD OVER THE PHONE THAT OUR ROOMS HAD A MICROWAVE & COFFEE POT AND WE DID NOT.THE ONE THING I HAVE TO SAY GOOD ABOUT THIS HOTEL IS THAT IT DID SERVE A GOOD BREAKFAST AND THE LOBBY POOL AREA LOOKED NICE.

The sevice was awesome and the room was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. But the only thing was the continental breakfast wasn't so good. It was cold and it didn't have much of a taste at all. But over all the stay was enjoyable.

I am handicapped (Walk with a cane) and was placed in a room as far away from the elevator as possible. There was no coffee service in the room or lobby. I was directed to a general store 1/2 block down the hill. The store was located approximately 3 blocks down the hill, and three blocks back up (remember the cane?) The Pizza Express and General Store were both closed and showed nothing but empty shelves. The only food service was a breakfast (Coupons provided at check-in). This was the only available food in the hotel except vending machines. I can only say that the coupons were necessary, because I would not have paid for two meals at this location. I would not stay here again.

This place is ok if you just need some place to lay your head while you enjoy the activities. When I arrived I was a little concern because there were cops in their cars as if they were monitoring the area. This made me kinda feel unsafe. My room had a musty smell and was NOT up to date. The location is great...good walking distance to all the activities gatlinburg has to offer.

If you are traveling with a dog, this hotel will be perfect for you. Very accomidating for dog owners and meets those needs extremely well. Please realize however that this also is very indicative of the overall room and grounds. Kids enjoyed the pools and the breakfast was fine for what it was - bacon, scrambled eggs, etc served in warmers. Would not stay without the pets however and is a longer walk to the main street of Gatlinburg, if that is an issue but trolley stop out front....
