  I've been to the Pono Kai many times! The ONLY negative I can say is it's hard to schedule time there. It would help if they had Wed arrivals and departures because that would help tremendously with the air fare costs. I can spend from one to two weeks there and the only times I have (or want) to leave the resort is for groceries or restaurants. I love unit 204 in bdg F... view of the ocean and all the resort grounds except the tennis courts. Love the elevators and laundry within ech bldg. I understand most units are owned by folks who live there year round--could explain the difficulty in booking trips.

  Pono Kai Resort also operates under the name ""Marc Resorts"". This means that some sections of the Resort are less desireable. (No air conditioning, broken closet doors, very unacceptable. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL when booking with this ""Resort"" they are extremely misleading. We stayed at the Pono Kai last year and returned because of previous experience. This time same building different resort
