The hotel is not new, however it is well kept. The room was clean, and quite large. My only complaint would be about the parking structure. I drive a large SUV...in the parking structure, there were bars hanging from the ceiling that actually scraped the top of my car!! The attendant was not helpful, if anything he was quite rude.

The hotel is old, but nice. The front desk folks are extremely friendly and efficient. The parking structure is more than adequate, just tight to navigate. I saw no signs letting you know that you can access the hotel from the roof of the parking garage via elevated walkways, but it may be obvious to you if you arrive while the suns shines. The restaraunt and bar are nice, but the staff is not up to par. While friendly and polite, they were unfocused and a little unprofessional. Still a very nice place to stay, strategically located for easy access and quick trips to the U of A and excellent restaraunts in the downtown area.

The Hotel Arizona,is an older hotel which is in the heart of the downtown Tucson.It is in walking distance of some great restraunts and a short drive from good shopping areas. The hotel staff was very helpful and extremly polite.The rooms were clean and very big.If I take another trip to southern Arizona I would use this hotel again.

never felt more unwelcome

Asked to check-in early. Not possible said front desk. Asked to upgrade room. Not necessary said front desk, they had a wonderful room waiting for me. Received a room overlooking a roof with no view and a very efficient but noisy air conditioner. The room was clean but older. We were hassled by an employee in the parking garage and threatened with having our vehicle towed at our expense for parking in the section reserved for large vehicles. We were in a full size crew cab pick-up that was the exact same size as most of the vehicles surrounding ours. Maybe he just didn't like the color of ours. Another parking attendant finally came to our rescue. My thanks to him. Asked for a late check-out, not a problem says front desk, however when we went to check out, we couldn't since the front desk said they were unable to check out anyone at the time, but they would send me a receipt via fax or e-mail if I needed one.
