What ever you do PLEASE look at the front, back, sides, under and top of your car..... I stayed at this property and they parked the car. The car was returned with frontend damage ( the hood was buckeled, the left blincker was missing and left head light was pushed back into it's housing). The people that park the cars are an outside service and are not held accountable by the Hotel or the Security personnel that work for the property. If you have any damage done to your car they will clean up the mess and tell the police that the car was delivered that way. Even though a few piceses (plastic the same color as the car, mounting screws with same color plastic around the screws) were found in the parking structure it was my word aganist theirs....Well I still have the cost of repairing my car and they still have video cameras that convently are out of service. So BEWARE of the parking Attendance or at least one that knows how to cover his tracks...

This was my first time back to The Ilikai in many years. It's been nicely renovated recently. We spent 3 nites at The I as a 'get adjusted' period to Hawaiian standard time, before hopping over the Kauai. The hotel location is, as I remembered, very nice, at the threshold of Waikiki Beach and within walking distance of the Ala Moana Center and a few other attractions. We enjoyed features such as an Ocean Sunset Room (away from boulevard traffic), the walking and sitting terrace -- ground level -- near the yacht club, condo style room with a kitchen and big fridge and microwave, the modest but fine (free) daily continental breakfast, a helpful and friendly staff, and a very good $$$-rate on Travel online. We are already planning our return before a jaunt to Maui during 2010.

This was one of the lower priced hotels for the period we were there--end of August and Labor Day weekend, and we found it to be very nice. The room was very spacious with a lanai, microwave and refrig, and convenient to the beach and amenities of Waikiki. Booking was easy both times, and the free breakfast was adequate but not sumptuous. Friday night included a cheap barbeque dinner with very good musical and dancing entertainment. We only stayed two separate nights at the beginning and end of our cruise, and it was perfect for that. They allowed us late checkout the first day and early check in the following Saturday, which worked well with our plans. Staff were pleasant and helpful but not overly outgoing. Definitely stay here again.

This was my first stay with my family and it was just okay. When we arrived, we did not receive the room that we preordered AND paid for with our package. We were NOT offered an upgrade, which I think we should have since we PAID for it. We also asked for 2 beds with the package but were only put with ONE king bed with a couch. We were offered a complimentary roll in bed, but I declined and just slept on the "couch". They said they could move us to a two bed room, but not until a few days later. I did not want to unpack my things then pack it back up just to move into another room. The person at the front desk did not know how to handle the situation well at all. In the middle of the night there were these loud siren sounds, just of those "fire alarms", that rang for over an hour at a time. This went off a few times during our week stay, all at different hours of the day (9pm, 6am, AND 2am!) I was not happy with that. The construction outside of the hotel was disturbing and made hard to sleep. Other than that the location is convenient. Quick walks to all the shopping, the International Market, and The Alana Moana Shopping Center. The beach was just a short walk behind the hotel. The bell hop was very helpful and friendly. The maids of the hotel were also very nice and friendly, they kept the room very clean, very consistant on bringing new towels and taking the trash everyday. The concierge service was very helpful and also friendly, better than the clueless unapproachable front desk workers! Could have been better.
