We loved this place and will stay there again if we go to Kauai again. We booked the resort based on pictures and descriptions and so were nervous that it might not meet our expectations. It was better. It was clean, staff were great, it fronts a great beach for snorkeling, groups of us camped out on the lawn adjacent to the beach for nightly cocktails and sunset viewing while our kids ran around and played together. The kitchen was well equipped as was the unit in general. The unit was outdated in terms of decor, but who cares? We had a garden view and it in fact had a lovely garden view. We initially lamented that we were at the "back" of the resort, near the road and away from the beach, but this ended up a benefit because it was quiet, we had easy access in and out of parking lot and we were very close to the pool (which is across the road, but it's no big deal). The only beach-related equipment provided at no cost are towels and chairs, so bring everything else or prepare to rent it. The resort has a staffed beach rental unit open all day for gear. Our favorite place to eat out ended up being the Marriott timeshare next door- they had great short ribs and fish plates that ended up being our grab-dinner-after-getting-out-of-ocean meal each night. We also did laundry at the on-site laundromat and it was great (and it's a great spot to pick up books that other occupants have left behind). If you do not need room service or glitz, but instead want a friendly atmosphere and a good all-around vibe, stay here. Glitz is out of place in Kauai anyway!

I got to our hotel and was very suprised to see our view of the garden! It was beautiful. The room had its own kitchen, dining room, big bathroom, and living room! We were able to cook our own breakfast every morning in order to save some money! The hotel kitchen was fully furnished, pots, pans, silverwear, any thing you could think of! coffee maker, microwave, toaster, wine glasses, and a dishwasher and soap. It was awsome, it left nothing to be desired! We also loved the balcony. There was a very friendly staff to help answer any and all questions and suggestions about near by resturants. We also went to the pool across the street before leaving. we did not get to try the resturant on the plantation, but we did eat some of their dessert which was ok. I do wish that they would have had room service, and definitley a bar on the beach or near it with service. We just went over to the next door hotel and ordered from their bar! All in all i would highly recommend this hotel for the price and what you get for that price! I felt very at home, and the birds sounded beautiful in the morning. THe bed was also very comfortable!

The resort was excellent. It was quite, peaceful and surrounded by beautiful expansive lawns. Our unit that we were in, had a lanai that you can walk out from to the grounds. My son really enjoyed this.. every morning he sat outside looking at the birds and played ball in the afternoons. The unit we had was furnished well, had all the supplies we needed. The only thing I would have changed or wished we had was an A/C in the bedroom. Although the ceiling fan is adequate in the living room, you can't really leave the bedroom shutters open at night since we on the ground floor and didn't want other guests passing to see us sleeping. We'd stay here again for sure. Really loved it...

We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel in our beach bungalow, had kitchen area which we used some (fridge/freezer great!) but loved making our way around the island to find quaint spots to eat. Living room area was nice and comfy. Closet and drawer space was nice. Hotel next to Sheraton, Depending on location of room not so easy to get to beach but we jumped in car and drove the 2-3 minutes to parking close to beach. We loved staying at Poipu area as it seemed perfect to travel to all parts of the island - northshore or to the west near the canyons not close but good central point to be able to travel back and forth to see all the island. Restaurant on-site was fabulous food, great atmosphere and ambiance but popular spot so there was a bit of a wait. Unforgettable honeymoon, one we will never forget! Thanks CKP!!
