The hotel is only about 2 years old. One of my friends stays there often as he does quite a bit of business in and around Altoona (Environmental Engineering). The hotel was clean and quite. The rooms were large and the bed was comfortable. They offer complementary breakfast/in room snacks and water. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Altoona.

I had a hard time finding a place to stay in the area during a Penn State football weekend. Frankly, I wasn't expecting much from a Holiday Inn in Altoona. However, the room was very clean and well appointed. Additionally, the staff were pleasant and efficient. I will definitely stay here again. One warning -- the hotel is located in an incredibly dense commercial district. This could be bad or good, depending on your perspective.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express with our two children while visiting Lakemont Park. Having had a horrible hotel experience in the past (not a H-I Express), I was very concerned about cleanliness of the rooms in general. I was so very impressed with the cleanliness from the check-in area to our room (especially the bathroom!!!) and the dining area!! Employees certainly go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience!! The display for the continental breakfast was very classy and organized and kept very clean!! I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

I've stayed at many Holiday Inn's and H-I Express""s...This one by far is incredible. Extremely comfortable, quiet room. King bed, great pillows. Hot water in a CLEAN bathroom. Free high-speed internet. Free HOT breakfast, not just bagels and toast or cereal, although they were available if you desired. We had great coffee, eggs, bacon, yogurt, FRESH fruit, and SUPER-CLEAN, well-maintained food and drink selections. Will definitely stay here again. Only wish the entire H-I Express chain was this committed to it's customers.
