We checked in there were no dollies to bring our luggage to our room. I went around the hotel looking for a dolly and found two that were being used by cater companies for a Shriner's convension, We carried our luggage to our room by hand. The hall-ways smelled of sewage. When my wife went into the bathroom there was water on the bathroom floor. We called the fron desk and the maintenance man (a very nice guy) said he'd have to replace the toilet seal and suggested we move to another room. We called the front desk about a dolly to move to another room and they brushed me off. Ended up finding a dolly after about an hour. The next day we had no hot water. The front desk said it would be fixed in 10 min. Ended up being an hour and I couldn't get the manager on the phone. I ended up having to take a cold shower. I asked for a manager to call me and have yet to hear from him. NOT A GOOD STAY!!!

This hotel has been recently renovated and is absolutely beautiful!!! The service was great, the food was good and the atmosphere was fantastic!!! A great hotel with a friendly staff. I will stay again and recommend to anyone visiting the Mt Pleasant.

We only stayed one night, we were going to USS Yorktown the next night. It was very convienent, being right across the street from Patriots Point. The room was clean, however our room was none smoking and had been smoked in so we changed rooms. The staff was very friendly and happy to assist us. Hint: Sign up for a priority club membership online and you save a few dollars on the room, and you can get free breakfast and upgarde for no charge for the hot breakfast bar. All in all it was a good stay and we would stay again if in the area.

hotel was in need of renovation; plastered unpainted holes in room and hall; dirty room - carpet had stain; dirt and dust clearly visible under bed, hadn't been vacuumed in a long time; dirty sock under bed. Staff 1/2 friendly and half not. Front desk had no AC, very hot; frontdesk was unkemped, and was chipped. Clearly not a 4 star experience.

I stayed at the hotel for one night on a weekend trip to Charleston. The rooms are large and clean, and the location is very convenient for its proximity to downtown. The breakfast buffet is good for what we paid ($10 for two), and the front desk staff was fairly helpful. However, a quick trip to the bar before dinner was by far the worst part of my experience. My boyfriend and I walked into the nearly empty bar, and for no reason at all the bartender refused to acknowledge us, let alone serve us. We made eye contact when I walked in, so I know she was aware we were there,. and she was not getting drinks for anyone else. Several customers at the bar even politely pointed out that we were awaiting service, but to no avail. After several minutes of this, we left. It was a inexplicably rude experience in an otherwise pleasant stay.
