We were impressed with the helpfulness of the front desk and the fellow there who upgraded our accommodation for no additional charge (it may have been a slow night at the Allerton, but we certainly didn't expect that kind of service!) and who suggested and then made a reservation for us at a nearby Italian Steak house--the Rosebud. The restaurant was wonderful. Our only disappointment was no coffee-maker in the room (or, at least, we didn't find one), which is something one finds at even the least expensive highway motel! Otherwise, the room was cozy, the view from the 19th floor of Michigan Avenue and all the holiday lights was beautiful, and we had a wonderful time.

We spent 3 nights here and would gladly return. The location is perfect for shopping and exploring downtown Chicago. The room was small, but comfortable and clean. The business center provided complimentary use of computer and printer, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our best trip to Chicago yet!

Our only complaint was the parking issues. The valet personnel were great, very courteous, etc but the parking as a whole was terrible being on such a busy street with no where for all the guests' cars to park for valet parking. It took 45 minutes to park our cars while were there. Too long. The hotel was beautiful and economical and in a good location except for parking. Would stay again at that price! Very nice staff in hotel as well.

The Allerton Hotel has been remodeled fairly recently. The only downside is that the room was small and there is no bathtub, just a shower. On the upside, the place is very clean, service very good. It looked like we were the most casual couple staying there, we just slept there and did our thing in Chicago. Location was GREAT, right on the Magnificent Mile, and cheapest rates on the Mile. If I had been there for longer, I also would have used the exercise room. It was very well equipped and the machines looked like new. Will stay there again some day.

The hotel is in a great location near shopping and dining. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The entrance is on a one way side street to Michigan Avenue so you may need to go around the block. It is just north of the Apple and Nike stores and across the street from Zara so those are good reference points.
