We reserved and received a non-smoking room, however upon entry, we smelled old smoke. As it was somewhat tolerable we did not report it. However, later that night we noticed that the smoke detector had been disabled. It was pulled out of its mounting and dangling from the ceiling by one of its wires. The other wire had been disconnected. It was wrapped in a brown paper towel. Our conclusion was that a former occupant wanted to smoke in the room. We called the front desk, but the clerk said it was too late to call an electrician. She offered to come upstairs herself to fix it. Preferring that an electrician do the job, we asked if there was another room available. As it was a football weekend, there was no non-smoking room available although a couple of smoking rooms were available. We were tired and said we would just leave it alone for the evening. In the morning we reported the problem again, expecting that it would be fixed when we got back that evening. It was not. I suppose that we could have tried to ask for another room, but we didn't expect any availability due to the football weekend. The staff themselves were not rude. What was worrisome was that the hotel didn't seem to take this problem seriously nor be concerned enough for their guests to work to get it fixed. Everything else was ok. The accommodations were simple and clean.

Great place to stay. Close to ND and on a fairly direct route. Lots of restaraunts and shopping centers in the area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were modern, clean, comfortable. Liked that it had a fridge, microwave, and table to eat at. Bed was comfortable. Only problem was my TV couldn't get the ESPN picture -- sound was there, just no picture. And compared to other hotels in the area for a football weekend, the price was competitive.

~The staff was friendly. The location was awesome because the hotel is located near a variety of resturants and the Mall area. I am very tall and I appreciate plenty of leg room. I was impressed by how spacious the rooms were. Very clean and nice size kitchen. I would stay again.
