We are visiting the area for a softball tournament and have a 12U softball team at the Holiday Inn in Laurel, MD. This has been the worst stay that our team has ever encountered. On Friday after checkin the pool was to open at 3pm and it didn't open until 4pm because of no life guard. When he did show about 30 minutes later 2 of his friends showed up and one decided to go swimming in his boxers. They stayed in the pool for over 4 hours VISITING with him. There were a number of playful sexual innuendos between the 3. My 3 children of 5,8 and 11 were in the pool swimming at that time along with 2 other kids. We pulled our kids out of the pool. During the day on Saturday there was a church group outside the room BLASTING music for a number of hours. We called the front desk to ask about turning it down and nothing happened. My children were trying to take a nap and could not because of the noise level. The most important part was our stay on Saturday night when two of our parents came to check in the hotel said that the reservations were for last night only(Friday) and not tonight (Saturday). The front desk clerk Saturday night was more worried about sitting in the back office on his cellphone with a female than working the front desk and attempting to help. There was no customer service what so ever, let me repeat NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. He was actually getting flustered because we were trying to resolve the issue. I shifted my 3 kids into another

Breakfast buffet and menu was good. Pool was good. No fan in bathroom. Bathroom floor was dirty. Door had a 2"" gap and was not insulated or buffered. Heard slamming doors all night. Bed was uncomfortable and creaked whenever you moved. Had a non smoking room, but hallway reeked of smoke. When we complained we were told that the 2 rooms across from us and the one next to us was smoking as well as all the rest down the hallway. The desk clerk said she would try to move us and would call us - that call never came. There were alot of bus tour groups staying there. Everything was very crowded. Elevators were filthy. Would not recommend this hotel to vacationers.

I enjoyed the new tempr-a-pedic mattress. It was relatively quite. I like having a life guard at the pool. A very short distance from the Greenbelt Metro station (to DC).
