This place is on a corner with heavy, heavy traffic, all with loud exhaust pipes and no insulation in the walls or windows. We could hardly hear anything except the traffic noise. There was no hot water in the room, and when we stepped into the shower in the morning no water came out of the showerhead. The outside doors had signs that they were locked from 11:00pm to 7:00pm, however they weren't.

The rooms are in dire need of updates to the wall paper and the carpets. The celeing was very dirty including cob webs in the corners and a brown tint in spots all over. The staff wasn't very friendly, but they were not rude either. I guess we got what we paid for at the Ho. Jo. in Grand Island. I do have to say the Garden Cafe located inside the hotel was very good. I staff was friendly the food was outstanding and the portions were rediculas. The price of the food was very good.

Our stay was good but when we went down for breakfeast we were issued 2 breakfeast coupons for the restaraunt. Our room was booked for a family of 4. Disgusted we left without eating any breakfeast. So we payed a higher rate to have a hot breakfeast but we should have added another $ to the price for all of us to eat.

Rude manager at check in. Beds and pillows like rocks. Too expensive for a two star $* per night! Airconditioners not working correctly during the 98 degree heat wave. They ask us to conserve by not having sheets changed, but then did not make the beds either. Outside doors always unlocked--no security. Will never stay in another Howard Johnson Hotel after this experience.
