It wasn't too bad of a hotel. The staff was very friendly. However, there was standing water in my bathroom, and the carpet was soaked from where the water had seeped over the threshold. Also, the TV wouldn't turn off when using the remote! It was weird. It was old enough to need a cable box. The pool area was also fairly dirty. There were cigarette butts in the pool, and I didn't feel like getting in because of that. The positives about the hotel is mainly the price. The employee I spoke to said that the rooms were recently remodeled, but it still looked a little old. The hotel is also in a great location - right off I-44 on Harvard. It's literally 5 - 10 minutes away from everything I was doing that trip. Overall, the hotel is cheap and kind of dirty. I probably won't stay there again, but if you are on a budget it's not too bad.

    BED BUGS!
At first I was just going to let this go. But no one should go through this. I get the creeps just thinking about it. I filed a complaint with the health dept. hoping to save someone else. It took several follow up calls to the health dept. for any action. At first the health inspector did not believe there were bed bugs there. But, after her inspection she agreed that bed bugs were there. Don't know the outcome but I will never stay there again.

We were in town visiting friends and were not planning on being in the room most of the time. When I called the hotel questioning if the room was a non smoking. The gentleman said that that was not specified but if I booked that night (through Travelocity) he would watch for the reservation and mark it non smoking. We got in late evening and were offered our choice of 2 rooms - 1 was closer to the front but they weren't sure if it would be cool enough or the 2nd the air conditioner worked well but was in the back and he stated that some people didn't like to be that secluded. We chose the 1st. The room has seen better days but was clean - other than a cleaning cloth was left near the TV. The mattress seemed soft but we slept well both nights. The temperature was probably more than cool enough for most people and was ok for us once we moved the thermostat to below 60 degrees. The room did have a refrigerator and microwave which was nice, but no hair dryer or iron which would have been nice for when we went out.
Overall it was a good room for the price and the service was excellent except for the dirty cleaning rag and it was clean both in looks and smell. It is missing a few of the niceties of the next step up of hotels but then the prices step up quite a bit too.
