TRAGIC!!

The hotel is located basically under a freeway. But that was OK. My non-smoking room and the lobby reeked like smoke. but, hey - ya get what you pay for in a cheap motel. There were ants crawling on the vanity and the bed. But - a little squash squash, solved. Then there was some kind of weird tile paint peeling into the tub so I couldn't take a tub bath after a 14 hour day. (sigh). BUT the next morning, I killed three spiders before I had any coffee...and after I got out of the shower and walked across the carpet to get my robe..... I stepped back on the bath mat and left BLACK footprints because the carpet was so filthy...ewwwwwww. Add to that someone else's mascara all over the nasty comforter (no - I didn't sleep under it!) YUCK! PHEW! GAG! But the icing on the cake was the clerk's attitude....he took the bath mat I showed him and just threw it behind the desk and processed my checkout like I never said a thing. He never said a word! I wasn't rude, or yelling......whatever. Altogether tragic.

This room was billed as one queen bed. My wife and I felt this bed was smaller than our queen at home - probably a full-size, not a queen. The bed was uncomfortable and unsteady. The room was clean with a table and two chairs, but there were many aesthetics problems: chipped paint, poor patching, cracked shower tiles, peeling toilet enamel. The toilet needed to be flushed multiple times. Their welcome pack only included an invitation to join a points sytem. There was no explanation of service hours, TV stations, points of interest, breakfast times. The check in clerk was indifferent. There was no clock, no radio, and no shampoo. The parking lot and other rooms were noisy. I'd only stay here again if nothing else were available.
