We stayed here because of the ratings given to this hotel by travel webs and by other visitors. It was the first time travel webs misled us. And, now I notice that the three reviewers who gave it excellent ratings all misspell "recommendation" the same way. The hotel staff was courteous. That's the last good thing I have to say for the place. It was dirty and rundown. When we went out to use the pool, our room key would not unlock the door and we had to walk down a city street in our bathing suits to get back in. The pool was outdoors .On the other hand, the hottub, in the basement was unbearably hot. The fitness room bathroom was smeared with feces. Our room was rundown and worn looking. The whole place just felt grimy and long overdue for a renovation.

Our room wasn't clean when we checked in, and 3 hours later that was still the case. Bathroom shower had used soap and half empty overturned shampoo bottle; the bed had been made, but not changed since previous guest. Also deadbolt didn't work properly. We left without even spending one night, and moved to another hotel.

Hotel staff was great! However, the remodeling staff is doing a less than great job. Wallpaper is crooked, ends are cut uneven, green wallpaper and bright white lights in vanity area make everything look yellow/green, jaundiced. New carpet is already stained.
