We stayed here twice during September 2009, within a week of each other. The good stuff: newly renovated, very friendly helpful staff, near highway, easy access. Not so good stuff: The attention to detail in the renovations was sadly lacking in some rooms. Our first room, the carpet was wet under the air conditioner. Also, there was a musty smell when the air conditioner was on, and didn't seem to be cooling, even though we had all the controls correct. After calling maintenance, he came up and made some excuse about all the waer in the pan being normal, etc., but promised to clean in out, spray some nice smelling stuff in it. We believe he did, but ended up not using it, prefering to open the window instead, as my husband has asthma. Also, there was a bit of black mold around the window casing due to the moisture levels in the room. The tiling on the bathroom floor was haphazard at best, and some of the grout was not cleaned off after laying the new tile, and some of the grout was missing. The toilet seat does not fit the toilet bowel and was off center. Not cool. The curtains were lopsided and one was unhooked nearly all the way at the top, so I stood on a chair and rehooked it. It's all these little things that makes you wonder about the rest. I would not stay here again.

The staff was very accomodating and the rooms are of good size, clean and quiet. The price seemed high for a mid-scale location, but it is comparable to all the other hotels around this lake region in the summer. The breakfast is cramped down one of the first floor hallways, so we skipped it, but size, cleanliness, and friendly staff are why we plan to return to the hotel when we are in the region.
