We stayed here two nights while attending a family funeral. Since my wife smokes, I booked a smoking room. The smoking odor in the room was ridiculous. Even my wife (the smoker) was appalled. After ventilating the room a bit, the situation improved and we decided not to ask for another room. With continued ventilation and our own application of Fabreeze? (on the second day), the room was livable. I would expect the cleaning staff AT ANY HOTEL to do a better job addressing the particular challenges of smoking rooms.
The hotel is adjacent to a truck stop with overnight truck parking. If you get an even numbered room, you may be serenaded by idling diesel engines all night long. Some may actually find this soothing. But if you need quiet, try to get an odd numbered room (on the front side of the hotel, away from the truck stop).
ON THE PLUS SIDE
Bathroom was modern and clean.
Hotel has a nice selection of features including in-room coffee makers, microwaves and refrigerators.
Hotel has an indoor pool/fitness room; we didn't have time to use them.
The staff at the front desk was much above average.
OTHER ISSUES
There were no ashtrays in the smoking room.
TV preset channels skipped some that were available.
Available in-room movie selection was limited to six movies.
Internet connectivity is difficult; we needed an internet bridge (available at the front desk; $100 deposit). -

Upon checkin, the girl at the desk was very sweet and helpful. After giving us our keys, she asked if we knew where to go for dinner. She drew us a map of the area with very detailed instructions about the best way to get there and even called to make a reservation for us. After dinner, we came back and she asked how our food was! We are from California and this kind of attitude blew us away! We will always stay here when we're in town! Thanks!
