We stayed at this hotel the second night of our stay on the coast. We'd stayed in Nag's Head the first night, then traveled down the Outer Banks to see Cape Hatteras. First the pros: the hotel was in a convenient place, right along the main road, nestled between huge beach houses properties. The hotel was close to restaurants and little shops. The bed was obscenely comfortable--it was hard to get back out of bed. The bathroom was clean and the room had a nice table and chairs that was just a nice second sitting area. The absolute best part of this hotel was the air conditioning. It was a humid 95 degrees with a heat index over 100. It didn't seem like the hotel was regulating their air conditioning--we got it right around 60 in our room--it was so nice. We'd sweat outside for like two seconds then come in and be instantly cool--sleeping like that was really, really nice. The cons: it wasn't anywhere near a beach front--we had to drive to a rocky public beach. The ocean from our hotel was about half a mile away and was probably two inches of view from our window. Also, the swimming pool was kinda far away and everything was downstairs--the stairs were on the very end of both sides and our room was in the middle, so you had to scoot to either end for everything. The breakfast was also far from continental--we got there a little after 7 and it was already cold, half gone--no good.

The hotel was easy to find, directly on the main road. Check-in was quick and the staff was eager to answer all of our questions. The beach is about one block east. There are restaurants, ice cream shops and mini-golf very close by (walking distance). The room was clean and the bed was one of the nicest for a budget hotel/motel. This hotel also offered a breakfast bar (cereals, fruit, juices, packaged bagels, english muffins, bread, a toaster and a self-service belgium waffle maker). I would recommmend this hotel to my friends and family.

The location was great. Just a short walk to a beautiful beach. The room was okay, but needed better attention from the maid service. The bathroom floor was sandy and not clean, the tub was not draining well, linens are just barely so-so and the beds need to be replaced. Having said all that, this is a well used beach motel. Front office staff was very friendly and helpful. When the tub draining problem was mentioned, it was taken care of quickly. Good suggestions for dinner were given.

A typical Comfort Inn - clean, low budget. The furnishings looked fairly new. The staff was polite. Breakfast was the usual "free breaksfast" - juice, breadstuffs, cereal, coffee, milk and make your own waffles. It's a short walk to the beach.
